Out of Town + update

Sorry, the posts have been so slow this month. I’ve had a lot of family coming in town to visit, and now it’s my turn to go leave to visit my brother out of state for my sister-in-law’s baby shower.

Besides that, my anxiety and depression, I have been a little stronger than usual, ever since my dog passed away last month. It’s the first time in my life where I haven’t had any pets to take care of, and it has had a much greater effect on me than I could ever imagine. I’m working on adjusting, but life has been really difficult the last few weeks. I’m to the point where I need to start seeking some medical assistance for my anxiety and depression, to see if that helps make a difference. Both have been officially diagnosed, so hopefully getting a prescription shouldn’t be too difficult.

I’m considering pausing the billing for August, but I’ll see how I feel after I get back. Idk, I just feel like I’m not doing enough, but I’m not sure if that’s the depression talking, or if that’s a realistic take. Let me know what you guys would prefer. Would you prefer a break? Or should I press on and just post what I can?

Take your time, if a break is needed then take that too, there is no rush and I'm sure no one here wants you compromising your health.

Take your time and break when needed. Don't rush anything even if you feel like you could.

Take as much time as you need to take care of yourself, and get any treatments you might need. Mental health is very important, and should come before anything else. If you need to take a break from art for a while, do so, especially since making art can be a very mentally and emotionally demanding activity. Be well.

If you feel a break is what you need for getting out of this funk even somewhat I get it and completely understand. A job, no matter what it is from digging ditches to painting art can wear on you. If it helps, consider this next month a paid vacation using days you've earned over the years. Besides, if you're worried someone will be upset about paying just make your first post when you're back a community poll of "Very pregnant or Very chubby Marzie for next pic?" and even the most jaded user will think all is forgiven.

I’m actually crying reading your response, and seeing everyone else’s support, and that tells me everything I need to know. I appreciate you.

Forgive me for not engaging much before this but I felt compelled to write: Never force yourself to do anything. This is not something that you can just "push through"... speaking from personal experience. It will only prolong the grief and what you are feeling (mentally/emotionally). Please take the time that you need to process and heal. You are not alone in this process either. I hope you can surround yourself with those that will help you through these tough times. Fall onto others, as I'm sure that someone can help guide you through this. I'm sure there are many in this community that will be very supportive of you taking the time that you need. YOU are what is most important here. I understand that art puts food on the table but I am also willing to continue to contribute as a "donation" of sorts to do anything I can to help (which others may be willing to do as well). Your art is absolutely incredible and you need to be at 100% in order to have your art be 100% as well (take care of yourself first so you can be at your best to take care of others). So that you can truly enjoy working and putting the time and effort in to produce the wonderful art that you do. (and further... you are so much more valuable than just making art... but your art is a gift to this community, please know). On behalf of myself (and others I'm sure), please do what you need to do to get better, rest, and heal. This is not something that you can just flip a switch... take your time. I hope you are able to get the help that you need. Once again: you do not have to endure this alone. One small step at a time, I hope that your situation improves.

I really don't mind paying for August, it's up to you. Slow output can be a tough, but I'd rather you have food on the table.

Take your time, Tiggy. You do what you need to do to help yourself and feel at your best. Personally, I feel like you're doing enough, and your quality is absolutely still top-notch. But if you feel like you need a break, certainly take it. I'll be here waiting for more gorgeous soft art from you.

Wait until you get back. We only want you drawing if it feels good to draw. If it doesnt, take that break.
