An update from my special guest Horton

Hello.

It's me. Horton.

Gary told me to tell you this:

"There are a few things I need to go over right now, with mixed good/bad news.

Work for me had unfortunately slowed down, and finishing up the game is progressing much slower than I anticipated. I'm going to be perfectly honest and open right now.

I'm starting to get tired. In all honesty, I started to feel it setting in at the beginning of December. My motivation to work on the game, as well as the quantity of my output, is gradually dwindling, and I think it should be quite obvious why this is happening. I'm simply working too hard on this game, the workload is unimaginable for one person when you factor in how I'd like to release updates in a timely manner. And much like the end of Episode 1's development, all of that work is catching up to me. In the past week or two, tasks that required brainpower have been excruciatingly slow, and I've been struggling to write and the speeds I used to.

To pull back towards the more positive side of this update; Episode 2 Part 1 is fully written, with one more chapter to get rendered before I move on to scoring. This chapter is unfortunately much longer than I estimated in my draft. I had an expected render count of around 150. The completed chapter will consist of 318.

It also gets a little worse, though this is a cloud with a silver lining. I accidentally wrote my way into another lewd scene in this final chapter, which comes with the ungodly cost of doing more animations.

As always, I'll keep you updated. Rendering generally doesn't require me to flex as many creative muscles as writing does. Hopefully, as long as I can muster the effort this shouldn't be too different from my normal rendering/animating pace.

So, sorry. The alluded-to January release I spoke of in December is probably cancelled. I'll still aim for February.

Once this episode is out I think I'm going to take a long-ish break. Maybe an entire month.

Based on the quality and length of Episode 1 i can see why it's been draining to work on it alone! Maybe take a some days off each week? The worst thing that could happen is for you to burn out for trying to have tight timely release, which i epxect no one would like! So feel free to take some days off while working and keep a balanced life, maybe play some others avn for ispiration or other games or just relax! It will be a long joruney, no need to burn yourself at the beginning :)

hell yeah, take the entire month off my guy, well deserved break!
