Impaler this weekend!
Added 2022-05-26 00:49:33 +0000 UTCNo need for panic just yet, I haven´t forgotten you.
So, whats the status?
Over the last 2 weeks, I´ve tried to find a good way to synchronize the animated movement of the victim with the scripted movement of the spike.
A task which proved slightly headache-inducing...
Even if you manage to get the timing right, the movement/acceleration of the spike will always be perfectly linear, which doesn't really look natural. And If you have the slightest bit of papyrus lag, the entire sequence will be out of sync really quick.
So I came up with something else.
Turns out that the human skeleton rig has a few "wildcard" bones which aren't connected to anything, and can therefore be used to freely move animated objects around as part of the animation itself. Practical effect of this is, that you can control/preview the spike within blender/DSmax while making the character animation. So the result should look more natural.
Sorry for wasting so much time on this, I know that this should have already been finished a week ago, but I guess that's part of the learning process.
I´ll do a bit of crunch the in the coming days and will hopefully be able to get a playable event out this weekend. Sorry again for the delay.
Comments
PA event for now. But converting it into an independent furniture should be a rather trivial task, so this will likely be done in short order.
