The first of two Valentine's Day photoshoots is a conceptual piece based on Kate Bush's The Wedding List from her 1980 album Never For Ever. The track was based on the 1968 FranΓ§ois Truffaut film La MariΓ©e Γtait En Noir (The Bride Wore Black) , which sees a vengeful widow hunting down the men responsible for killing her husband on their wedding day.
Although intended as an alternative to the conventional lovey dovey content that is generally expected for February 14th (you should know by now that I am anything but conventional), there are few greater passions than those stirred up within a woman scorned.
I enjoyed performing as well as posing for these photos. We shot them whilst listening to The Wedding List on repeat, so many of the expressions are based on what was happening in the music at the time. Others are my natural wild side being allowed out to play for a while. It's quite cathartic to channel your inner Lady Macbeth sometimes.
I am fiercely protective and will always stand up for myself and those I love. It takes a lot to trigger my temper, but I guarantee you would be scared when I'm angry. Dare you risk wronging me and ending up on MY wedding list? π
