Did you miss that Lucy broke up with him in the last season finale which led to Raj being able to now talk to women?? How?

2025-08-26 15:20:31 +0000 UTCI wasn't surprised when season 7 opened with Raj & Lucy having broken up because she had texted Raj during Leonard's Bon Voyage party and said she thought it best that they stop seeing each other. But I do understand Nick's point about wishing for a more satisfying sense of closure with the couple. It sounds as though there were a few reasons for Lucy's departure, the primary one being that she so closely mirrored Raj's own social anxiety & awkwardness that the writers felt there was little room for Raj to grow as a character, and also that the humor from Lucy's socially awkward behavior, such as continually climbing out of bathroom windows to exit uncomfortable situations, etc. would grow old fast with viewers. While I liked Lucy's quirkiness and spunk it was also noted that a lot of fans just didn't care for her character; she was ranked the #1 worst BB character.π€· The actress, Kate Micucci, has kept very busy since leaving the show ~ She has been in several series, has been the voice of Velma in the Scooby Doo franchise since 2015, as well as many other animated series, she has her own comedy/singing stage show, and she is also part of the comedy/singing duo "Garfunkel and Oates" along with another TBBT alum Riki Lindhome(Riki played Rebecca Nowitzki, the "intelligent Labradoodle" who obsessively helps Sheldon to a breakthrough with a Physics problem he's trying to solve).
