It’s a shame we never got a true adaptation of the Injustice storyline for DC. Zack definitely wanted to set it up but the executives and movie studios wouldn’t let him go all the way sadly, and it ultimately hurt the movies imo.

I think it has some of the most stunning visuals of any CBM, I think most of the cast is great, the score is great, and I think with better context, it could've been a great movie without really changing much. But it's just that, context. Or lack thereof. BvS would've been a good trilogy topper with a more traditional, more optimistic or even bittersweet Superman movie in the middle between MoS and this. Because as it is, it's not only too much too fast shoving way too many things into movie 2, it feels like a betrayal of MoS' ending. We go straight from optimistic "Welcome to the planet" to Superman being public enemy number 1. This movie constantly talks about things we should've seen. The "love affair with the man in the sky". Robin's death and Batman's fall from grace. We needed more before this movie. And on top of that... Jesse Eisenberg. His character is a decently engaging villain played very well, but it is NOT Lex Luthor. It is the furthest thing from Lex Luthor. It actually made me want for Superman Returns, because even Kevin Spacey played a better Lex Luthor. I am far from a Snyder-hater, I like Man of Steel and his cut of Justice League a lot, so don't anyone give me "But you just don't understand Snyder's vision!". But I think he got way too far ahead of himself here and fumbled a lot of it hard. As it is, this movie is an overstuffed mess that feels unearned at this point of the saga. And unfortunately, it's not even close to the worst of these movies...
