One of my very first picture books as a kid was an illustrated book about sex and pregnancy. Funny enough, I'm "no contact" with her now. Not necessarily because of the way she ruined my entire childhood and adolescence with sexuality, but it sure as hell was a part of the reason.

2025-02-07 22:03:33 +0000 UTCi never understood what 'talk back' was. i was trying to defend myself and ask valid questions or explain how i feel and they responded with violence. Weirdly in my 30s i only physically attacked my mother, who is apologetic. i stopped talking to my father when i was 25 but i occasionally send him a letter or e-mail asking him what the f did he achieve by constantly hurting me so much for 25 years.

Yes, kids drinking coffee with milk in Colombia!! ... 😊 Maybe pls react to Disney's Encanto ... a great family-drama movie that somewhat mentions this fact, too. Pfff,my friends and i actually were praying a lot last 2 years of high school and in college. My parents hated that i am hanging our at a church, a weird american-based west church no less, and that i had an actual friggin' BIBLE in my room. not a fan of how Phil lowkey harasses Gloria, especially finding excuses to touch her through "misunderstandings", or falling on top of her while 'saving' her from Jay's exwife.

Those of us who were raised being told on the outside we suck, keep asking for the rest of our lives - how would my mind even work if i wasn't surrounded by that as a kid?What would my life look like today, if my parents actually treated me well?Would I, like, have zero self doubt and zero anxiety+panic attacks? The 'mom gave up a career to raise us' is a real life thing, except , it's not the kids' fault. Who forced you to have them? If anyone did, blame that person, not the kids.

2025-02-03 14:01:55 +0000 UTCAwesome! Regarding the quicker pace of jokes: There's also a difference between sitcoms that film in front of an audience and have the laugh track. Often you'd see the characters just standing silently waiting for the audience laughter to die out. You don't really notice it that much because the laugh track fills the space. But if you watch a sitcom like Friends without the track, it looks really awkward, I think you can find examples like that online.
