I was sooo mad when gru came back at the end. Angel and Cordy were so close.

Was excited for you to see this episode and yea that ending lol...That’s just classic Joss Whedon tbh. This is actually the only episode of s3 that was written and directed by Joss, and usually those are some the best episodes of the Buffyverse. I see this episode as sort of Angel the series' response to 'Once More with Feeling' in the sense that its about putting the characters in some sort of artistic/performative setting and using that art form (musical theatre on OMWF and ballet/dance here) to help structure the story. But I believe Joss was inspired to do a ballet-themed episode because he learned Amy Acker (Fred) had about 15 yrs of ballet experience and wanted to incorporate that into the show. Which brings me to share this clip from YouTube. Would love for you to react to it but if not then just so you can enjoy a little laugh 😂 It’s a deleted scene from this episode (from the DVD box set) and I always wish they kept it in but alas….it’s not spoilery, just don’t read the comment section.

Yeah, Diegetic is in universe and non-diegetic is only audible for the audiences. I only know this from the last series of Doctor Who, lol.

Wow. I really didn't recognize her with her hair tied back, the makeup and the accent.

Wesley waited too long to let Fred know his feelings for her and now it's become too late. She has her eyes set on Gunn now.
The feelings between Angel and Cordy have been slowing building since early in the season. Like when she brought him the fake flowers for the basement. Which was immediately disrupted by Darla showing up pregnant. Lorne is a bit pushy, though, because he should know by now that Angel isn't allowed that much happiness. However, a more partnership based relationship might be safer than the flaming hot romance he had with Buffy. But no worries. It is immediately disrupted once again by the arrival of Groo.

As most of the best episodes in the Buffyverse, this was written by Joss Whedon. This is definitely one of my favorites of the season.

I absolutely *love* this episode—it’s my favorite in the series, not just the season. Every performance was top notch, as was the writing and the humor.
I agree that Drew (Drue?) seems absurd as Cordelia’s love interest—but remember, her character’s ego needs some nurturing, and the pseudo-Viking is all about reinforcing ego. Damn him. Seriously.

The actress who plays the main ballerina is Summer Glau. She's been in alot of sci-fi stuff (including Firefly) and she was the woman on the train that the guys from Big Bang Theory were fanboying over and failing miserably to hit on when they were going to the conference and Sheldon had to call Penny to get a copy of his paper :)

Awesome reaction to one of my top 3 episodes of season 3! Your "I didn't even remember you bro!" was priceless and perfectly encapsulates how I felt in that moment. It had been almost a full year between when that dude was last on screen when the show was originally airing. I was so bummed. I really, really shipped Cordy/Angel already by this episode. Did you recognize the prima ballerina? I am not sure in what ordered you watched this episode compared to the episode of The Big Bang Theory she was in but the actress is Summer Glau - she was in the train episode of season 2! I was also really rooting for Wesley/Fred by this episode - Gunn/Fred came out of nowhere for me. The episode broke my little shipper hate repeatedly. Despite that it also inspired flashbacks of how much Cordy lusted for Angel & Wesley back on Buffy - timing is everything. Also, one of the most haunting lines ever - "I don't dance - I echo." It is devasting every time I hear it.

Great writing and production, even if one doesn't agree with the character direction choices. A masterpiece, nonetheless.

I love this episode, but the Cordelia/Angel dinamic in here, made me a little umconfortable. There's a lot of parallels with the "Sadie Hawkins" episode from Buffy. But I really prefered that over this. Love my "Bangel" here, sorry. Even when I'm a fan of "Spuffy" too. hahaha
Did you recognize the ballerina? I think that is the same actress from TBBT, in the episode in the train ("It's hot in here, it must be Summer").
I think Angel is like being pushed by Lorne to express a feeling, that I think it will never be so strong like the way he felt about Buffy.
Maybe I'm just rambling about, sorry.
Love the reaction, by the way! I laugh a lot with you with the jokes of the beginning. It was a very funny time for me today, so thanks a lot for this.
Have a nice day! Until the next one ;)
