what a weird movie - the geek and hacker is attractive?
According to American culture, (Friends, TheBigBangTheory...)
you cannot be into any science and remain cool and/or attractive.

I too love this movie as a good exploration of the "brains in vats" philosophical problem, and as an action movie. I however, struggle with the Oracle. I could easily accept an "in Matrix" prophet, who could predict somethings in the Matrix, due to some super ability to "run the Matrix code" faster, and so see what the future holds. However, that would not allow the prediction of actions of beings outside the Matrix influencing the Matrix, nor would it allow the prediction of the actions of beings totally outside the Matrix. If you want to have an "Oracle" which can predict these things, you need to introduce a mechanism or world-view which would allow such predictions - such as an Omniscient God who gives revelations, or a deterministic mechanical universe that can be predicted. The giving to the Oracle such abilities without providing such mechanisms or world-view is - for me - a big weakness of this movie as a philosophical exploration of these questions.
