In regards to your question about whether All My Children was a real soap opera... it was. It ran from 1970 to 2011. In fact, Sarah Michelle Gellar was on All My Children for 2.5 years (1993-1995) - she even won a Daytime Emmy for her role as Kendall Hart on the show (Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series). Talking about having older friends, when I was in my 20s, pretty much all my friends were around my age, but now that I’m almost 40, my main friendship group now ranges from age 27 to 63, but there isn’t any weirdness at all - we met through the Supernatural fandom and although we live in various different European countries, we have a constant WhatsApp chat going, plus we meet up a few times a year and also go on vacations together :).
