I'm catching up on Friends now, so I know I'm late to the comments. But I had to look this up because it piqued my interest. A person in the U.S. *can* be legally buried at sea, even if they're non-military (civilian). Both the U.S. Navy and the Coast Guard provide burial at sea. Regular mortuary services do not have the authorization, so a person has to contact either the Navy or the Coast Guard.

Firstly, regarding Chandler and his special “quality”…I think it may be his sensitivity. For all his sarcasm, I’ve always seen Chandler as a real softie. I think I had a borderline crush on Chandler growing up because underneath all the jokes, he seemed like the kind of guy who would really care/ listen to you if you had a bad day. Ross and Joey are great too but there’s a warmth and charm about Chandler. Of course in the 90s that kind of sensitivity was not considered “masculine” but it makes sense since it was the era of films like Die Hard and all. As for the baby talk in episode 9…I can only vouch for my own experience but yes, I do think babies can hear from the womb. My sister played music to her bump everyday and the baby often kicked. My niece is very receptive to music now. Also we had a nickname for my niece before she was born and I tested it out just recently. Every time I need to get her attention fast, I use her nickname and she responds faster to that than her actual name now. So yes, I do think talking and singing to the baby has an impact. Anyway, loving these friends reactions. Looking forward to more :)
