She could have easily given up on that board and the only thing thst kept her going was her promise to Jack. She CHOOSE to live. She activly chose it. Not only did she live, but she spent her life honoring Jack, by doing everything they talked about. Just the fact that she was able to overcome this unbelivable trauma, and, on top of that, manage, to some extent, to move on, fall in love again and lead a happy and meaningful life. That is what makes Rose a true hero in my eyes. And for me, that is what this story is about.
