Unofficial Horror Movie Poll
Added 2022-01-10 07:41:34 +0000 UTCSo with Hill House coming to a close... give me an idea of what direction y'all would like to see the horror genre go. (Bly Manor is coming soon to Patreon). I have LOTS that I'm eager to see, from classics to much more recent. Which type of scary is your type of scary?

2022-01-10 20:05:58 +0000 UTCIf The Invisible Man is the 2020 version, I'm in. I'm not a fan of Nightmare on Elm Street (Friday the 13th either) like most ... this is probably horror heresy, but I feel like it's just not very well made. I suppose I should appreciate it for whatever ground-breaking qualities it might have (relative to the horror genre in general), but ... can't do it. It's either too much or not enough cheese -- I can't decide.

Hitchcock has been super influential in helping me write suspense and there’s a lot you can learn from his films in general. I’m really not a fan of being scared 😅 but if not Psycho then I think ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ for sure…just cause when I saw the trailer recently it actually had me laughing. I’m sure it’s scary but I think some of the over the top scares are a bit dated nowadays.

2022-01-10 13:31:55 +0000 UTCI'm a big fan of psychological horror! So I obviously voted for Psycho! I hope it's the 1960 version and not the vince vaughn remake though 😅 Looking forward to Bly Manor! 😍 Speaking of, you should try checking out Mike Flanagan's other works like Doctor Sleep (sequel to The Shining), Oculus, Hush and Gerald's Game! Those are imo his best works!

2022-01-10 09:02:47 +0000 UTCI’m a big zombie fan myself but I love all horror! Suggestions if you are interested: Quarantine (with Jennifer Carpenter), Train to Busan, Dawn of the dead (2004), From dusk til dawn, Vampires (1998), Tremors, and the Screams. :)
