Buffy the Vampire Slayer Ep 6 FULL Reaction

Sorry it's so late in the day, but... Nicholas Brendon KILLED it in this episode, so creepy!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Ep 6 FULL Reaction

Comments

This was so much fun to watch again (the movie) and I really enjoyed your reaction! I was laughing alone, talking to the characters and you. The expressions of your face are priceless. Thanks for the react! Here we go for the next episode.

Sofía Reyes

I suspect what we were supposed to infer from the dodgeball scene was more hyena-like behaviour, the Pack knew that Buffy was too strong to eff with and so they would rather turn on the weaker member of their own team. New subscriber here making my way through the backlog (say thank you to Domi🙂👍), I gotta stay I enjoy how you just examine things through the lens of the show's own context without picking too much at the whys and wherefores. Keep up the good work, boss.

“They better not bully the principle” no they just ate him instead 😂 honestly this episode traumatised me when I was a kid, the fact they ate the pig and then poor principle Flutie, the look on his face just stuck with me. He will always be missed

This is probably the first episode, upon rewatch 24 years later, that features a guest star, usually one-off, in one of their first roles, and have gone on to have bigger roles in Future. Eoin Bailey, who plays Kyle the most prominent pack member, went on to films Center Stage, Almost Famous, Miniseries Band of Brothers, and was cast in Once Upon a Time as Pinocchio. Not all Major roles, but significant enough to be recognisable if you watch those types of media. It's definitely fun to watch and recognise those faces - some big names pop up in later episodes.

I also like the way they once again use "ordinary teen problems" and put a supernatural twist on them to magnify them. A group of bullies can be terrifying, and the "pack" mentality / peer pressure is highlighted by them turning into actual hyenas :) It's a cool way of highlighting problems that teens face, and I don't think anyone had done anything like it before this series. (Correct me if I'm wrong). I hadn't seen anything like it before, at least, and I really think it's quite clever.

Anne Hummel

Aw, I loved Flutie too! I think this episode is really effective, and NB was really excellent, glad to see him getting credit where it's due! Enjoying your reactions, Thor.

Briony Addey

Thanks! Yeah, that's a good point, and the show is doing a good job by killing off certain characters I thought were "safe" to keep me guessing/ nervous moving forward. Very effective

Nicholas Crowell

Glad they're reactions you look forward to, and yeah... I'm gonna miss the principle I really liked him and was surprised that he just died like that this early on (although part of me is glad because now I'm more concerned about the remaining characters)

Nicholas Crowell

Tell me about it! I don't know if they will ever recover (cannibalism therapy!)

Nicholas Crowell

Can't wait :)

Principal Wood Instrument 😆

They really wanted to make a pt about how dangerous it is to be in Sunnydale with the Hellmouth. People die that we liked - Jessie, the principal. Principal Fluties death always hits even if the rest of the episode is not a fan fav per se. Great reaction!

Dutchkel

This is not one of my favs but I agree with you that Xander killed it in this episode and I'm glad he was able to show his range. Plus I always enjoy your reaction so it's always fun to watch this back. I was actually shocked at how far Hyena Xander went with Buffy...I got a bit worried (until I remembered she's more powerful anyway haha). I'm super sad about the Principle as well...as you said he was always so kind and funny. Can't wait for next week...always counting down the days for more Buffy! :)

Effie

What's more, if Xander has his memories of it all, the other kids do too. They're going to need therapy for a very long time.

Tim Pierce

If you like season one so far , you will be blown away in future seasons.

Allan Cornett

RIP to Principal Wind Instrument. This one's a bit of a mixed bag for me but overall has some interesting parts. Although, that slow-mo scene with the music blaring lasted a cringeworthy amount of time for me lmao. Glad you're enjoying the series so much, Thor! Definitely always looking forward to your reactions
