W.I.P. Update: My Wife Mariko first build just around the corner...

The only things left are a couple of short linking sub-scenes and a few extra CGs and review the whole thing for corrections. So it will be released in the next few days, the weekend at the latest... that's if I don't find any big issues (I hope I won't). Since it's almost ready, I might as well start to promote the release on Pixiv and Twitter.

The images I'm posting are not from the first build. Since it will be released shortly, I think is pointless to show any CG from the first build. The first pic is the promo picture I'll be using... and also probably the main screen picture in the game. By the way, the first build won't have any fancy main screen... I'll add that later and polish a few more things as future builds get released. I get that you're more interested in the actual story rather than little aesthetic details. The next three images are work in progress for scenes in future builds. The last four are from a character that may or may not appear in the game. I'm still thinking about her exact role.

The first build will be long, for a first build at least (around 10 thousand words... maybe even more). It covers the intro chapter and the first scene of the first actual chapter of the story. The intro is quite important because it introduces the characters and kind of "sets" the story for the future. It was quite a challenge to write I might confess.

I had to change a couple of scenes because they didn't work. You can't really notice those things (at least I can't) till you put everything together and see how it actually will play. I got really frustrated for a couple of weeks, but in the end, inspiration found me and I could make it work somehow. But you probably don't care about my suffering... 😭

There will be one sex scene in the first chapter. A vanilla scene. So not "juicy stuff" yet... but I think it's logical since this is only just the introduction to the story. I wanted to reach the point of the first (vanilla) sex scene, so the "good stuff" would start to appear in the second build. That's also why the first build is that long. I think future releases will be shorter. However, there might be some juicy stuff in the first build, hidden "between the lines", so to speak (people who enjoy Mystery NTR might appreciate it, I hope).

What worries me is the size of the game. The first build will be more than 500 megas, and it's just the first release... So I'm thinking about changing the .png format of the images to .webp for future releases. Just sacrificing 1% of quality the images can be compressed to about 80% of their size.

I also wanted to talk about possible branches and a poll I want to make, but let's leave that for after the release.
