Here is the last build of 2024, I managed to finish most of the stuff I wanted to add to this version but december got a bit hectic so a few things had to be pushed to the january build.

The game is now fully playable (mostly) using only mouse input, though there are still a few minor kinks that need ironing out. Both keyboard and mouse are active at the same time so they can be used interchangeably.
Left mouse button interacts with a tile, interact with the player character to open the inventory.
Right mouse button moves and attacks. Move onto the tile the player is already on to skip a turn.
Hold the middle mouse button/scroll wheel and drag to rotate the camera. A single press will toggle freecam during cinematics.

There is a new neutral floor between the lava and spooky floors. It features a minotaur blacksmith, a bath that heals the player, and a recruitable Frank.

The player now gets bits (currency) from defeating enemies, or from dropping items into recycling bins.

I'm planning on adding some randomized shops in the future with actual npcs, but for now the new vending machine and blacksmith are the only places to spend bits at.

Allies drop a soul item on death and can be resurrected by using the item from the players inventory. When resurrecting the player donates health equal to the allys maximum health.

Offensive wands:
The new fire wand covers a 3x3 area.
A new shock wand is single target but jumps to one additional target. +1 extra jump if the target is wet.
A new ice wand shoots out as a ray towards the target and hits anything along its path.
A new force wand covers a 3x3 area. But knocks all characters away from the center. Kind of like an aoe minotaur headbutt.
Identified offensive wands now have custom reticles to better show the area they effect when firing.

My current feeling is that the game is way too easy with these new additions and changes. But I'm hoping that it will balance out with some new monster spells and devious traps.

You could try removing the save files to see if that fixes anything. They're at ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/HardStuck/Saves on linux. There hasn't been any changes to the game engine between updates so the save files are the only thing I can think of.

My bad, I just hand place enemies in the debug room whenever I need to test something and must have forgotten some. I'll replace the current enemies with some kind of enemy spawner doodad. The pumpkin is a rare tile on any floor after the first neutral floor. But has a much higher spawn rate on the spooky floor.

The hidden debug room doesn't seem to have every enemy, for example I'd like to unlock the pumpkin animation but can't get one to spawn. is there a way to get every enemy to spawn in the debug room? How do you do it?

A blessed summoning tome will spawn two skulls if it can't find any other npcs to clone. Or you could just unlock it in the hidden debug room on the first floor (the room with the staircase is symmetrical).

Both sound really cool, specially the one making you think back to the previous floor. Btw, i love the introduction of the mimic, the sex animation is great and is a tough enemy, but i was thinking if there could be a way to avoid it, such as throwing a sandwich and befriending it, maybe not turn it into a follower, just make it not hostile and if it has an item it spits it out. I've been replaying the old Ace Attorney games and I really wanted to do an angry OBJECTION! pose, but yes it is a bit goofy. And the camera being able to fly into the hidden area was unintended. But I suppose it serves as an alternate way for the player to discover the secret. As for discord. I don't really use it other than for the occational multiplayer voice comms, and I never leave it running in the background as I find it incredibly distracting. So if I were to make an official discord server and was never actually on discord myself. Then I don't really see how it would be any different from an unofficial server.

Removing individual pieces wasn't a planned feature when I made the older two outfits so the body meshes for cardboard and goth are missing the feet. I need to fix some other issues with them and finish the alpine outfit so I'll add the feet back in at the same time.

The belly glitches out really bad at blending values above 100%. I had to use a custom script just to get it to behave in the normal range. And I'm not adding any more blends like breast size anytime soon. It gets exponentially more time consuming to animate anything with each blend layer. Blender is releasing a new layered animation system in mid-late 2025, which might make it easier to add more blend layers but I'm cautiously optimistic about it.

I kinda want traps to be more involved and play more into the players attention to detail. Some rooms might be obviously trapped, but the player triggers the trap anyways thinking they can avoid the incomming damage. Or the trap might be avoidable entirely if the player remembers something from an earlier floor in the dungeon.

Just finished unlocking everything again, fought and beat three ice brutes simultaneously with a cursed tombstone shield no fucking necessary (though, "Brute Gangbang" does feel like it would be appropriate...), all after revealing every corner of every map including a fully lava room This game has ZERO business being so damn good in such an early state Three things: 1. I am very amused at how the player gets mad at the peeping tom even after doing regular business with him while completely nude. "Yeah, I'm naked, no big deal... Unless I'm in the water, in which case you disgust me!" 2. Unlike other cinematics, there are no guard rails to camera control in the peeping tom preview, so you can see all of the characters' insides. Entertaining, but presumably not intended. 3. I saw a comment somewhere about how you were afraid of running a discord server for the sake of ignoring it. Would you be interested in having someone else run it for you ("run" as in compile bug reports, handle moderation, answer questions/set up FAQs, create emoji, and generally hype the game up)?

purely for consistency reasons (only pure thoughts) can we be able to remove all parts of clothing for an outfit, as an example we cant remove shoes from the cardboard or goth outfit, but we can for the alpine outfit?

Have you considered cumthrough and boob growth content? And possibly an option to check for "limit breaking" cumflation? (Yea this last one would fuck majorly with most animations, but as an option for those who are fine with that and manage to mix headcanon and actual animation together maybe? :p )

I've seen the minimap cutting off but I must have forgotten about it. Thanks for the bug report, I'll have it fixed for the next update. And I'll make glasses work like the hair option in the customization menu.

I believe the second error is from failing to load dotnet at the default install path. There might be an issue with your dotnet installation which you can reinstall through your distros package manager. The game seems to run fine on my pop os vm so I can't recreate the errors. Can you still run the older versions of the game?

Nice! You mentioned the game is too easy so, may i suggest an idea? Maybe place traps in some corridors? It could give some usage to the levitate scroll as well.

i for some reason try to run the game and it give me a few errors a segment fault being one of them the others are: 1. ERROR: Condition "!FileAccess::exists(path)" is true. Returning: ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND at: open_dynamic_library (drivers/unix/os_unix.cpp:806) 2. ERROR: .NET: Failed to load hostfxr at: initialize (modules/mono/mono_gd/gd_mono.cpp:393) I'm not sure why it happening I haven't had a problem running this on Linux if anything it runs better for me. Edit: I tried using the original with out the hotfix and it gave the same errors

I have some actual thoughts than the last time I commented. First there's glitch when you lose and then respawn from loading your save your map glitches out and gets cut down to the bottom, it's not game breaking but it's kinda annoying to reload your save constantly to fix your map lol. And then for suggestions why can't you switch glasses options for other costumes lol. Besides those two things this one is pretty goodπŸ™πŸΏ.

I found another small thing. When finding a second ring of an already known type, even unidentified rings are showing the effect. For example: I found a Ring of Calories, used it, everything fine. Later I found another Ring of Calories, did not identify it, but it shows the effect of -40 calories per turn . So i donΒ΄t need to identify it to know: thatΒ΄s a cursed -2 Ring of Calories. And then another thing, but that might be intended... After decursing Items, the itemlevel stays the same, so the usefulness of decursed items is quite low.

The debug room is just for testing purposes. It was handy to be able to test things in the release build. Thought I'd leave it there as a secret.

That explains it, i was experimenting with the Wand in a pretty tight space and one tentacle was knocked behind a corner, i tried several times with the same outcome.

There might be an issue with your save filed at: %appdata%\Godot\app_userdata\HardStuck\Saves You could try to remove them from the folder to force the game to use new ones. You could also try removing the override.cfg file in the game directory. The only thing it does in a freshly downloaded game is run it in fullscreen mode. Which might be causing the issue. Godot has had some issues if the gpu control panel (Geforce Experience? I forget what it's called) tries to force anti aliasing to MSAA. It would be odd if that was the cause since you can play the older versions but it might be worth checking it.

What are your specs? As in operating system, cpu, gpu etc. And are you having issues with other versions of the game or just this one?

The minotaur blacksmith is missing after the player takes a bath. If you wait for him to get back he should reveal the secret. It's not possible to figure it out on a first playthrough. Which is why I suggested that players save before taking a bath.

It wasn't, thanks for letting me know. The kraken + tentacles count as three separate entities. And they all despawn when the player loses sight of one of them. So knocking one outside the field of vision causes them all to disappear. I'll make them immune to knockback since they shouldn't be able to get onto land anyways, and also make it so that they all need to be out of vision to despawn.

I was going to revamp the weapon enchants but I ran out of time, and then forgot to add it to the "Things that got pushed to january" section in the changelog. But like you laid out, the logical effects would be fire for extra damage, shock for aoe, and ice for stun. The full body of water damage was removed since it triggered whenever any shock damage hit a water tile.

Mechanically, yeah that is definitely what is happening, my comment was more about the intent of the monsters existing on that floor. I test the tv thing every build since I am always hoping for an easter egg, and this is the first time monsters have shown up from off the map on that floor from the sound. The friendly minotaurs came by when they were in that room, but not after they were removed. And since it is such a specific mix of monsters and not just one or two of every monster for, like, testing purposes, it made me wonder if it was intentional to have them off map there.

Is it intended that the Wand of Force banishes the Kraken? One shot and the head and the tentacles disappear.

I think the weapon enchantments need an overhaul. Fire Enchantment is fine so far. Shock Enchantment does not seem to electrify the whole body of water anymore in the water level. Bug? Ice enchantment is far too strong in the water level! ItΒ΄s too easy to exploit the Kraken and farm bits just by attacking the tentacles over and over. Ice and Shock have little use on other levels where no wet enemys roam. Would it be possible to change the enchantments to a proc or different effects? Maybe a chance for chain lighntning on Shock Enchantment. Or a 25% chance or so to freeze enemys even if not wet on Ice Enchantment. Maybe change the Vampiric Enchantment to 1 or 2 hp per hit. Another Idea would be to scale the enchantments with the weapon level.

Played the hotfix, no new bugs from me to report as of now, the only thing I noticed playing around with the freecam is that mr Frank's stick clips out through the back of our chubby girl during the missionary mission. Now my "commentary": The new content is great, all the new cinematics are spectacular, I like how the concept of the bath cinematic is displayed, feels a bit like peering into your development methods. It made me imagine praying a statue cthulhu having a static moment before the teleportation. I was pleasantly surprised with the the strength of the Kraken, just like Mimic, I like to think of these enemies lorewise as agents of cthulhu or that they come from that dimension. In the terms of difficulty, Protein Shakes feel a bit cheap for such a permanent reward, the heal and calorie sodas are ok, though they significantly reduce the risk in exploration and with some savescumming the routing can get be cheezed a bit. They do not reduce the fun factor of the game at all though. It's fun to feel powerful at times. I think the addition of the kraken is a step in the right direction on regards to difficulty, surviving him requires possibly a few loops down the line if you find one statue per loop, If I were to increase the difficulty I would consider putting the loop here, the most relevant mechanic which represents biggest risk factor is the lewd instead of combat. So perhaps I would look around for ways to force and/or enforce the player engaging in that aspect, as of now the only forced elements are unidentified lewd potions, aphrodisiac gas and a unidentified charm wand on mirrors. For example I would add an enemy with high HP and has a low refractory period as a special skill and approaches the player with reproductive intentions using a charm spell perhaps instead of aggression. Anyways, I trust with whatever you do with the game, you are doing so great. Any plans for Vampire down the line? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, hope you have great holidays. small bug report; i did self dmg with the force wand and hit 0hp and they game doesnt register it as a death, just freezes up

You can use the summoned checkbox in the replay (Box full of VHS tapes right at the start) then the monsters are somewhat transparent.

Quick bug report: the panties on/off option during sex doesn't work properly. The panties stay on regardless of setting for both the cardboard and goth outfits for some animations. The alpine one seems to be working properly.

I am having the same issue. I have done some testing and it happens whether the game is in full screen or windowed mode. However, it seems to be resolution specific. It happens on all available resolutions EXCEPT for 1920x1080 and 1920x1200. I have tried it with a couple of different AA options and v-sync options. so far it seems consistant

Some really neat additions here, I especially like the new stuff with the vending machine and bits, and the new animations are fantastic as always. I do like the new fly camera for them as well. I recall asking for some sort of easter egg for destroying the TV way early on, and I am not sure if what I found is an intentional easter egg, or just some weirdness. But it seems so specific I am assuming it is intentional. The squad pulls up when you destroy it. I did find a for sure major bug. Using the seed 6666666 and then hardcore mode will have her freeze in the sitting position after falling out the tv, and no inputs at all will work. The game locks up there. Now, for a wishlist item, I would really love it if a new stage of the animation progression could be added in, where the uh...filling portion were its own thing, and does not end until you press z to continue onto pull out. That would be a fantastic addition to me. Happy holidays floppystack, looking forward to more in the new year!

Dont worry about not getting everything you wanted to do done this month. It's december, most creators dont do anything around this time, so thanks. New stuff is good, I like the new wands, and the animations are great as per usual. I love the freecam mode, my only request is to increase the size of the sphere that contains the camera, so we can really get around to every angle and distance one could want. And yes, the game is very easy right now, the bits system just means lots more power for the player. Keep it up!

Found another where I charmed the kraken and the tentacles were their own entity, the charmed kraken did not attack or spawn tentacles as per normal. Also tried summoning it on the next floor and it couldn't move and despawned I think. So far having a blast trying out the new stuff though so far!

You can swap weapons with allys, i was just experimenting with it a bit and traded a sword for a charmed Minotaurs Warhammer :) (6-12 dmg, req 12 str). Just drop a Weapon or Potion on a charmed monster or ally.

Just encountered a bug when summoning the defeated kobold ally, cant move or interact with anything, game appears softlocked, runnin in window mode, im standing on a tile with water on either side, he summoned into the water on my left, my character is wet.

You can not only use the Wand of Enhancement on allys, but give them potions and trade weapons with them too. The wand works on Monsters aswell... ask me how i found out ;)

I ran into an pathfinding problem when auto exploring or going up/down on the ice floor. The player caracter and allys will permanently run over the ice tiles and slip out. It would be great if auto explore would avoid ice, like it already avoids lava tiles.

- Love the freecam during scenes! Depending on how you move it around, however, it can end up sideways with no real control to correct it back except moving around a bunch and trying to straighten it. - Mouse controls feel great but I do think I'd prefer left click move, right click interact so maybe add settings option to be able to pick - BUG REPORT: Entered into freecam during anal goblin scene resulting in game over from excessive cum. Upon returning to main menu and starting new game, I could still interact with things using mouse but my cursor in-game is invisible. Tabbing out and back in did not fix, playing in windowed mode. After viewing another scene on next run and finishing, the cursor returned. - Small QoL: Upon 2nd visit to vending machine, pressed enter too fast trying to skip dialogue, accidentally spent 50 bits on full heal. - The ability to examine allies/enemies and see their health is awesome, but also does add an element of making it easier. Maybe difficulty levels that could affect these things being visible? I will say either way, being able to see ally health is a great addition. - It's interesting that you say you feel the game is easier at this point because my initial feeling is that it's actually got some nice challenge to it at the moment, at least in the beginning. EDIT: There's a curve, it feels harder in the beginning and yeah much easier later on - I definitely feel like a 1:1 health sacrifice to revive allies is too easy, I think 2:1 would work better. And/or only allowing revives on neutral floors. - My preferred play controls is the number pad since I can move diagonal but I will say it's a little annoying that NP5 can be used to select things like the enter key but doesn't actually initiate interaction like enter does. - IT'S NOT A BUG IT'S A FEATURE REPORT: After a summon expires, they drop a soul that can be used to "resurrect" a non-summoned version that is friendly. I will now begin ammassing an army. - Update to this, it seems to have bugged out the recruitable kobold. When I entered the lava floor, I had the recruitable kobold, and a slime and skull that I had summoned then ressurected. The kobold did not follow to lava floor but the other two did. Going back upstairs, I can see the kobold standing where he was but I can not interact with him (it's as if I'm interacting with an empty square) and I can even stand in the same square as him. He is still doing his idle standing animation though. - Oh hey, another update, it seems to do this to one ally per floor; upon leaving the lava fllor, the same issue occurred to my slime follower (who was the first one I realized this with after recruiting kobold) - I keep seeing the recruitable kobold randomly on floors, just stuck somewhere. On the neutral floor with the minotaur, he was stuck south of the vending machine in the black void. - Lol I also ran into my slime companion in the same way, he was randomly placed throughout one of the floors but I couldn't interact with him. - Ok so really interesting, after I finished the runthrough and spawned back through the TV for run #2, a bunch of my summoned/ressurected companions were located out in the black around the starting floor - They do not seem to drop a soul if killed in combat before expiring as a summon. - ENEMIES AFFECTED BY RING OF CHARM DROP SOULS - In this case it ressurects an enemy that is still charmed which does attack again once charm wears off - When enhancing an item with the minotaur, the camera remains zoomed in for some reason - Can confirm Moe Lester's bug report, enhancing items with minotaur does not deduct bits from balance - That Frank recruitment animation is fire, great work dude. - Interesting find, you can use wand of enhancement to make allies stronger; the buff retains even if they die and you ressurect. - Resurrecting does not appear to use a turn FYI All of these notes are from my first playthrough, figured I'd post in case you plan on putting out hot fixes. Will make another post if I find anything else to report. Floppy, you are doing amazing work on this, thank you for all you do. If anyone wants a similar game to hold them over until the next release or if Floppy needs some ideas, I found a lot of enjoyment in the game Last Evil on Steam which is very rogue-like but doesn't hold a candle to the animation quality that Floppy has in this game.

Bit fun bug: I ran into statue of Cunt'hulu 3 times (different floors) and picked same reward +50 cum limit. It upped my cum limit to 11315 :D Anyway, enjoy holidays man :)

The souls were only supposed to be dropped by the recruitable allies. Not sure why the brute became an ally as the resurrected one should be identical to the defeated one. Anyways, thanks for the bug report.

I believe it has something to do with the borders of the window when not in fullscreen mode. Godot does an auto resolution change to make the window fit on the screen and I think that is whats messing it up. Does it happen for you if the game is in fullscreen mode?

I found a (feature?) if you charm a creature and it gets defeated it will drop a soul you can use to resurrect, the brute stays an ally while the others revive charmed and it will wear off. This also works with the summoning tome, after the creature dies it drops a soul. technically you could use this to - catch 'em all - as it were

Weird bug that has gotten hilarious over time. Recruited Frank, backtracked to the previous floor, he walked one tile and then I backed out to the neutral floor again. He is now stuck out of bounds on the neutral floor. Go back to prev floor, maybe his pathfinding got caught... he's still standing there, but he's not on the map and clicking his square says there's nothing there. For a while, it was just him doing this. Recruited (summoned ally soul bug, reported above by other user) several allies, all good. Beat the run, beginning New Run+. The cinematic that shows our character falling out of the TV now has every summon from my previous game out of bounds. This persists now throughout all further runs, including new ones after a loss.

Well so far freecam just spins out, then fades to black. It also completely vaporized sound in H-Scenes? Kinda odd I think the vaporized sound comes from the fact that the camera thinks it somewhere in narnia, so muting the sound depending on distance. Other issues have already been mentioned by others

I don't know if there's a secret to the Frank Recruit or if there's a bug, but the animation doesn't add to the Book of Memories. The hint reads "Combat cinematic involving Player, Frank"

I'm looking into that one, it happens to me as well if I move the game over to a different monitor after opening it.

Freecam sadly isnt working for me during scenes. It spins uncontrollably and sometimes even crashes the game (black screen no sound).

The blacksmith seems to be bugged, upgrading gear does not dedact any bits from your inventory. Other than that amazing additions overall, very well done!
