That makes sense Carl, and it didn’t seem as much like a brothel as we have today…and it was interesting to see how the training and talent and abilities of the women were key to them earning more👍

The problem is, I never know what the difference is between outros, intros, and those other scenes🫣

this episode, in fact the whole arc, is relatively accurate to what this time period in japan was like. One important point to make is that (to my knowledge) not all courtesans/women who worked at those types of establishments exclusively engaged in sex for money like modern sex work. many of them simply spent time with wealthy customers, playing games, traditional performance (like the instruments Zenitsu was playing), traditional dance, more or less playing house for wealthy guests. Obviously sex took place at times but despite being treated like property, the madams of those houses generally treated their workers well all things considered (even if only because they considered them their property) and a client generally couldn't just walk in and hook up first time around. Again, just to my limited knowledge and lack of significant research, it's almost as though the client had to come by multiple times and develop a sort of rapport with them before they were willing to further. The women who had the most guest requests, had the most training, most skilled with instruments/games/dancing etc. became Oirans, some of whom were even still virgins when they became an Oiran and they were almost more prized for their purity and wifely demeanor/potential than being a sex worker. Merchants, dignitaries, high ranking military etc. would pay to spend time with a cultured woman and have her more or less treat them like they were her husband. It's also accurate that women of a wide age range were sold/rented to these businesses due to debt or just being kidnapped, if kidnapped tough luck, if due to debt it would only be until the debt was paid if all parties involved were honest. I'm not sure how they took age into account , I'd like to think they had younger girls handle grunt work and not entertain guests until they got older.....but in times like that, money was money (especially from filthy wealthy and politically powerful guests), and humans have always had a dark streak. Yeah this is a big wall of text but I feel like it's helpful to have good historic/cultural background when watching something like this because it helps certain things make more sense why certain things happen the way they do.

He did for a large portion of Season 1 and he stopped at some point for some reason.

We've finally made it to the Entertainment District Arc!!! As someone else stated, the new movie that just came out this year is part 1/3 of the final arc in Demon Slayer but we don't have any news on when they're putting it on streaming platforms, hopefully they will by the time you catch up 🙏 and yes Muzan is the demon king, demons are shapeshifters which is why sometimes Muzan appears differently every time he shows up. Also don't worry too much about remembering characters' names since in Demon Slayer, they all have a small arc about themselves such as this arc, they'll be focusing a lot on Tengen Uzui, the sound hashira.

New movie is basically the big finale, but instead of doing another season(s) they decided to make a trilogy and this was Part 1. They said they're keeping it in theaters through 2025, so it'll hopefully be either on Crunchyroll/available online somewhere in 2026. It could be up by the time you get there, but we don't really know much else at this point.

For demon slayer you should watch past the end credits. Unlike other anime where they just show what's gonna happen next episode, demon slayer instead gives extra lore and story building

Yes Muzan is the Leader of all the demons. There used to be 12 Moons of which are demons who have consumed the most amount of Muzans blood, but because of their incompetence he killed all but the last 6. Akaza the Demon who killed Rengoku is moon 3. Also, Muzan was the one who murdered tanjiros family and turned Nezuko into a demon

About the movie you asked, yes it released a few months ago but isnt on crunchyroll yet. But its supposed to release beginning of 2026 so youre probably fine. until you get there it should be out :)
