Great comment and question griffin….YES, I have told people “we are done”, as respectfully as I can, I need to keep boundaries in the room and one thing I was taught early on is to not let people leave the room. Therefore I do talk to people about the result of their leaving the room and thankfully they really have been good at listening. In Tony’s case, the very next session after he left the first time, I would’ve had a direct conversation with him that him leaving is not an option, unless we both talk about it and agree, and if that happens, we are done….mainly because clients need to practice sitting in that emotion and not throwing a tantrum and making a statement by leaving.

I voted RELENTLESSLY for this, so don't worry about apologizing for watching.

Weird and long comment but Tom, when Tony stormed out and you talked about similar situations in your own practice and how some come back and others don't, I was wondering if there is ever a point where YOU wouldn't allow them to return? It's for sure different but in my work I employee almost exclusively folks from at risk communities, many of which have extreme difficulties with structure, authority, etc. and the higher ups in my organization are quick to push termination. I (except in rare cases) have advocated for my employees even when I am the target of the outbursts as I feel: 1.) I went into this field specifically to help folks like this 2.) Many of these folks are here after a lifetime of authority letting them down I'm also well aware that I can't and shouldn't absolve these cases of responsibility or coddle them, and I HAVE let people go over cases of say, physical violence, but yeah! Was wondering if you have a "well, we gave it our best effort" line as well.

Great reaction, love this series! Fun little facts I always thought were cool - the actress who plays Hunter Scangarelo (Meadow's friend) is David Chase's daughter. David being the creator and show runner of the Sopranos. Also the actress who plays Meadow, (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) grew up practicing and preforming singing as a child, that's really her voice at the end. And even better when she initially auditioned as a teenager for The Sopranos she didn't understand what the show was about and thought it had a major singing component or something like that based on the name and was confused when David Chase never asked her to sing during her audition.
