2025-12-08 08:14:17 +0000 UTCHey music theory time, the moment barry's body wiped the seal and set his soul free we hear a Plagal Cadence! In music, the tonic/root of the key of the music is the I (one) chord, and a plagal cadence is where it would go from the IV (fourth) note of the scale to the I (first) to end the piece, in this case it went from a Gflat chord to a Dflat (D,E,F,G = 4). This chord was used here because allll the way since the middle ages, Church services/hymns/masses end on this cadence as well, it's when the choir would sing Amen as a spiritual release. Used here it is meant to emphasize Barry's spirit release as well.

I think unfortunately, the first two anime we give you being AOT and FMA is a lil tough cuz these are both shows where you are MEANT to be confused. In this case, just as Ed had no idea what was going on we weren't either. Thanks again!

2025-12-07 02:32:23 +0000 UTCNo spoiler, but Ling (the prince) isn't the western sage, you'll find out who that is eventually, or you'll just piece it together :P Barry the chopper doesn't play anyone's side besides his own, and the military (working with Mustang) currently gives him the most freedom instead of being a guard at the fifth laboratory which was destroyed by Envy a few episodes ago. when the lab was destroyed, Barry ran off and eventually was captured by Mustang and crew, he has no loyalty to Father and the humonculi. I would love to join in on a live stream and help clear stuff up! FMAB is in my top 3 favorite anime of all time, I've probably seen it at least 15 times. think of the philosopher's stones in the humonculi like batteries powered by souls, the power allows them to regenerate, come back to life, use certain powers, etc. until the power runs out, which is what mustang did when he cooked Lust in a supernova haha. Mustang is absolutely one of the most kickass characters in fullmetal, this is one of his best scenes, you'll know the number one scene when it happens. Barry is very much dead, just like Al his soul was bound through that blood seal so when Barry's old body scratched the blood seal it killed him, severed the connection between his soul and the armor. again, no spoilers, but there's a LOT more to Hoenheim than they've shown so far, I guarantee you'll change your mind about him later on, but he's supposed to come across as an ass at first while things unfold. *learns Hoenheim's backstory* oh....yeah he makes complete sense now.
