You’d have a lot to break down in Black Swan + Its a overall great movie!

This movie is a wild ride and have watched it many times. If you enjoyed this I’d check out La La Land (also directed by Damien Chazelle). The tone is completely different (it’s a bit of a musical) but the theme of jazz is very reminiscent of this movie.

YES! My 2nd favorite movie ever behind Good Will Hunting!

Black Swan is basically “whiplash” for women. Would love for you to check it out!!!

I've been meaning to get around to this movie, it was really good!! I was in a orchestra for 5 years. It's honestly uncanny how talented some artists are. My conductor literally had perfect pitch. You could play any note through any method while he is blindfolded, and he could tell you the exact note, string, and position. He was a good teacher although I feel he engaged in a lot of favoritism. Plus he was too soft in a lot of areas, I think our orchestra would have been a lot better if some people had some cymbals thrown at their head. I think there should be a good mix of friendliness and sterness in leadership. Also love the drums it's my 2nd favorite instrument behind Electric Guitar. A lot of my favorite artists like Tommy Lee and The Rev are drummers. The Rev who is a deceased drummer for my favorite ban Avenged Sevenfold literally broke his hand playing the drums, then continued to go on tour playing his insane pieces with one hand. Drum players are crazy man

It was such a sad ending, because we never see if he can overcome the trauma and belief in himself. And I see your point on the family dinner thing, although they were a little over the top with the sports thing…also he seems a little detached emotionally.😊

When I first watched that scene when Andrew’s at the dinner table with his family I was fully on board with him when he snapped and talked down to them. I still don’t approve of how his family brushed off his drumming career at all but after seeing this film in full then seeing that scene again it makes me wonder whether they had a point. Andrew gets what he thinks he wants in the end but he’s only 19 and he may realise soon enough that striving for so much perfection and success while alienating his family, any romantic interests and not making any friends just to be remembered as one of the greats may not result in a happy lifestyle. His dad isn’t hugely successful regarding his career but he seems quite happy. I like how bittersweet this film’s ending is because I’m not sure if it’s truly a good thing for Andrew or not.
