Keit would have been freaking out when she first got on the ship, even at Bex. Once she recovered nearly any alien wouldn't freak her out. On the other hand Bex and crew grew up in a world (worlds, galaxy...) with all these aliens and they had to get familiar with them to know how to interact. Something so outside they haven't met yet AND seriously different would trigger the panic instinct they'd all have to have in one form or another.
