SIMS 4 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

How To Download Zip files
Most of my mods are uploaded and released as a .rar file.  That means you'll need a program like winrar to extract the mod.  I use rarlab.com or win-rar.com.

Download .rar Files And Install The Mod
After you've downloaded my mod, it'll appear at the bottom of you computer screen.  Click the file and you'll then see the mod folder.  The next step is to extract the mod.  To do this select "Extract", and the location to send the mod to.  I generally send them to my downloads, but you can also send them directly to The Sims 4 mods folder.  

Select Downloads or Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 > Mods

If the mod isn't unzipped correctly it will not show up in your game.  

Useful Tips For Mods

-Check for broken CC

-Keep The Sims 4 updated to the latest patch

-Make sure you've removed previous versions of updated mods

-From Sims 4 game settings ensure Script Mods are enabled, and Enable Custom Content And Mods (Always recheck after a patch)

Common Issues With My Mods

Social Events Wont End
The reason this happens is I've forgotten to include the proper ID for a reward.  It prevents the event from actually closing and you'll need to exit the game.  I recommend removing the mod and waiting for a fix.  In some case the fix may be delayed if the next update is close.  

Custom Venues Aren't Appearing
I working to add my venues to a Universal list, meanwhile try different custom venue lists to get the venues to show up.  I've got them to work with Zerbu's list.  However in most cases if you don't see the venue simply avoid the venue purchase process, setup a generic lot, add needed items such as a computer, and play through the rest of the mod.  They're setup so the venue works either way.  The only venue that doesn't is the Ownable Apartments Mod. The trait needed to unlock all interactions happens through the purchase interaction.  That'll be updated soon.

Mod Doesn't Show Up In The Game
Generally is an issue with how the mod was unzipped.  If it's not extracted properly the mod won't show up.

No Interactions On A Computer
Because I'm using Script Features from Mod Constructor, my mods work mostly on basegame computers.  Specificially the All-In-One Power PC.  Does not work on laptops.  Currently in the process of learning Python Scripting but no timeline on when I have my own custom scripts.

This troubleshooting guide is a work in progress.  As more issue appear will update this guide with the solutions.  You can always report an issue in the comments section on Patreon.  I will see the issue.  If I do not respond to you doesn't mean I'm not working on it.  I generally make most fixes with the next version of a mod.  If I can't fix a mod it'll become unsupported until I can.
