SELF STORAGE EMPIRE MOD
Added 2021-02-22 17:48:14 +0000 UTCVery sorry this mod took a while to create, it's considered a work in progress due to the main feature not triggering well. Similar to Childcare Worker Mod. For that reason this will be free until updated with a new method of getting items from an NPC. Luckily I do know of a way, just in the process of learning it.
Description:
This adds a functional Self Storage business to The Sims 4. Works on residential lots. Use the computer to spawn new potential customers, tell them about the rates and features, collect the rental fee, then get their stuff and put it in a storage unit.
How To Use:
Add the "Self Storage Manager" trait to your Sim in CAS. Use a base game computer. "Invite Customers" interaction will spawn 2 NPC's. Sometimes they'll run away, but most will enter the front office of the "Self Storage Facility".
Be sure to introduce yourself first with the "Hi, How may I help you" social interaction. That will bring up the "Customer Service" social pie menu category. Interaction in this category include: Discuss features, Discuss storage unit sizes, Collect rental fee. Once you collect the rental fee that's when you'll bring up the "Put sim's stuff in storage". If the interaction is successful, a notification will pop up reading" We'll put that in storage for you". Finally, check the household inventory for their items and put them into a storage unit.
Known Issue:
Item are rarely put in the household inventory. I've tested it on household members and it works sometimes in that case.
Solution:
Will upgrade to use an objectininventorypicker, instead of using the give expensive gift loot.
