It's finally done! After one year of creating the original sketches, I finished this comic project!
I remember having a strong cinematic visual of this scene in my mind, where it's raining and Wei Wuxian is with his hair undone. And this is the outcome hehehe
I had so much fun with this! It was such a great experience to play with the expressions, the gestures, the movement, the angles. It was a learning experience for me.

The color palette seems darker in the new one :O I genuinely don't know if it's really because my color palette changed or if it's because those specific drawings I chose are more dark/shadowy/at night.

I was working on a comic when some old school music started playing on my playlist and suddenly I got 2008 vibes, when I was 15, and just discovered shonen ai/yaoi, and Axel and Roxas were my first mlm ship! :')

The sketchy style of House of Gentians doesnât go well with fonts I think, thatâs why I always write the text myself. Just like the art, it feels more ârawâ, more close to the hand of the artist.
But looking at the pages I canât help but think that it doesnât look that good, because the text appearance is not consistent and overall it doesnât look that professional. It also takes a lot of time to write and style each word.

Reading the novel the second time without consuming the visual adaptations before, made me imagine Wei Wuxian in his second life a bit differently. I don't know why but my mind keeps on picturing him with a shorter, more fit robe, and visible pants + high boots. I think the main idea behind it is that his legs are more seen, which I guess fits his agile and wild character.
