Hello everyone, New n' old!
I apologize that there isn't much in terms of posts here, pretty much purely because i have chosen to not make any "betas" or similar paid "versions" of the "FBA lite-mod" project.
All of the progress & updates have been posted to my Twitter/X instead.
Anyway, I am here because i've gotten an idea, however, i am conflicted on it and would like to hear other's thoughts about it. . .
Yesterday i had finally gotten to use the animation - porting program i've made, and after (some bizarre) bug testing & some set up, i have managed to make it work.
After testing stuff out, i had concluded that animations are now fully possible.
(by the way) The body has been designed with bendable limbs in mind from the start before i had realized i couldn't do it (up til now).
So, the way animations were meant to be implemented from the initial plan:
- Base actions replacement animations (like walking, idle, jump, attack etc.) to make the character much more alive.
- Player triggered animation actions ("AnimActions" i call them, i like that name!)
They are basically emotes / loop animations of actions that can bring life to the character the way player sees fit: Sitting, laying, wave, etc.
Within those i had also ideas of doing a few possible NSFW animations, as in, 1-2 by me, thats it.
But, while thinking about the fact that "holy shit animations are now actually possible" and having to genuinely plan out how i will implement them,
I got an idea for an additional animations related concept. . .
It is the "thing" that most of you are likely to have thought about / wanted given the nature of this project.
NSFW scenes animations type.
Not just a simple loop but a "system" that would actually allow simulating, that kind of stuff...
Now, i will be clear, as i've been working on this project i didn't actually want nor care that much about this type of content (granted i am asexual n all).
But i had actually thought of a way to implement semi-complex mechanic to allow for Scenes animations. With multiple animations and possible interactivity through inputs. Like changing speed n such.
And i am not sure if i should do such a thing or not. As its not exactly what i want this project to actually be about.
So, I've gotten the idea of how i "could" make that a thing.
"AnimScenes Addon" to the main "FBA" project, which would implement aforementioned mechanic.
Additional information of the IDEA behind it:
(not 100% all of what i will mention is to be implemented)
- Multi-stage animation support
Separate animation files which would be "stages" of one continuous "scene" and allow for separate loops within one scene play.
- Actor(s) support
I have got an idea on how to implement "actors" to be featured within animation scenes through quite janky method of animating and then separating actors into their own model while keeping the same animations n a lot of that kinda stuff.
In short, this would allow actors (such as "male character" or "mob" or "monster" etc.) of any kind to be featured within the animation, implemented in a way where they would only be called in when the scene is played (so no performance impact when its not in use)
- Possible animated camera angles support
There is potential for camera related mechanic within the scenes feature, where you could control camera to have free / spectator look of the scene and / or animation included purpose made camera angles you can switch between.
It won't be an "Exclusive version" of the figura project, it would be a seperate script set that you would need to apply to the public version.
Some other notes / issues around it, however:
- It would have to be paid.
Its the one feature in this entire project that i would like to make paid access only.
Primarily, because it would reduce/limit the amount of underaged users being able to get a hold of it,
and allow me to secure some more income that i sadly quite desperately need currently (and long term). Plus given its something i, myself, don't have that much interest in, i would refuse to do it fully for free unlike the rest of the features.
- It would be cosmetic / visual ONLY.
Since this isn't a mod, i can't actually alter the game state or similar, so no "mob mechanics" type of ideas can really be done with this.
It would just be like an in-game animation player with some interactivity.
- It would be quite janky to work with.
When designing mechanics, with ability of users creating content for it, i more so focus on giving the tools most of the possible "cases" to allow for the users to get the most out of the tools rather than make them very "user friendly". So the idea i have on how it would work and how i would create it would be relatively janky / confusing compared to the rest, for people who aren't coding savvy. Though i would absolutely provide decent guides for it if i were to do it.
Also, an important note:
I AM NOT AN ANIMATOR.
Animation is the one area that i never learned to do and never got good at.
So if i were to make this a feature, at best, i would make ~2-4 different scenes as a showcase of the mechanic's possibilities.
So with all that, what do you think about this kind of mechanic in general, as well as what is your opinion on whether i should make it or not in the first place?
Other thoughts / feedback / ideas are welcome in this case. Since i'm very much uncertain about this, but i can imagine there is a lot of demand for it (given sexmod's and similar stuff popularity.)
