Online Magic Battles

Hi everyone, this is a question for those that have tried the beta version and are mostly using the online side of the Bondage Club. Can you try the Magic School battle system and let me know if you think it would be fun to include it in the online chat rooms?

It could be a system like LARP. You enter an online magic battle room, chat with the others, dress up as a magician if you want and start a battle. In battle, you would have 30 seconds to pick your target and cast your spell on her (strip, rope, gag, etc.).  The fastest magician to successfully cast the spell wins the round and the spell effect is done on her target.  We repeat until one magician or one house is left ungagged. When the battle is over, it goes back to regular chatroom roleplay and you can enjoy your spoils of war.

Would it be fun? Is this something you would participate in? Thanks a lot!

If the puzzle is too hard for most, I'll lower the difficulty, but I do want to give a little challenge.

Im not sure if it is my internet or me but I try the fight fourtime on easy and was not close to win.

Your internet connection speed should not affect the game though. Can you try with two different internet sources on the same machine and let me know if there's a difference? Thanks!

There is an issue I have noticed. If you have slow or bad internet the square lags behind and makes casting slower and harder. Sometimes after a quick stop, the square even overshoots the cursor, failing the spell. The same does not happen with faster internet. This leads to players with bad internet being disadvantaged.

Yes, you can cast an easier spell to hamper your opponent, but it's a gamble because you can still fail that easier spell. Correct, if nobody succeeds, nothing happen.

A duel could also work, it's a good idea. I'll think about it and see how I could make it.

If the spell works for everyone that succeeded, there would be lots of spells that wouldn't do anything when players select the same target.. But I'll think about it, maybe there's a way to do multiple spells in a single round.

Added note, I just realized that you can cast the same (easier) spell twice, instead of always going for the harder spell once you succeed. Which make it a little harder for the opponent to cast back the next time. Also, when two players cast a spell at each other and they both fail, nothing happens, right?

I like the concept, but I wouldn't make it a free-for all, enter-this-room-if-you-want-to-battle system. Or you could, but that sound exáctly like LARP, just magic-LARP (which the magic school is of course, nothing wrong with that) How about (if the room settings allow it) you can challenge a single character for a duel? They'd have to accept, and then fastest wins until someone is gagged. Maybe require the participants to put on their wizard hat first? (so it's obvious for the room that they're dueling)

What about instead of only the fastest magician winning the round, make it so you have a certain timeframe to cast the spell and if you get hit by another's spell or the time runs out before finishing, your spell fails? Meaning everyone not targetted by someone else, or those who finish before a spell hits them, succeeds with their spell?

Sorry to say, but the system is not fun. It needs massive simplification, and utilizing LARP is a terrible idea. Try to keep it simple, or you will scare people away from it.

I am definitely too slow or too clumsy for some spells, even if that doesn't directly answer the question.

I agree with this statement I find it a little hard some times

there could be a skill for it how you get better at casting spells the simpler the maze gets for you maybe ?
