My boundaries are solid

A post i made about having boundaries as a creator. Especially as a femme presenting one.

For those without a twitter ill post what I said there here:

"You know, ever since i did content creation as a femme presenting person with a patreon & twitch, (and fansly) my boundaries have been contested quite a few times. Im sure some of you who also make content feel similarly.

There will be people who become entitled to you, your time, or the content u make,

Some might push your boundaries, especially if they feel like they have a chance dating/hooking up/be your friend, or want you to become their free therapist (the bad parasocial feelings)

Which happens to femme presenting creators quite frequently.

As someone who went through several situations where some broke my boundaries after setting them, i found that I become known for having strong boundaries. Strong Boundaries that have also been argued about or dismissed.

Additional clarification : setting boundaries in my case means me telling people 'no', or, 'im not comfortable with x behavior please stop' or people who try to insist (demand) that I make something for them or do what they want when they want, because they follow me or subscribe/buy from me or felt a type of way about me so they feel entitled to me, and/or my time.

Regardless, having strong boundaries protects you and your community.

If youre a creator, having boundaries & setting them (early on) is a good thing to do. It sets the tone and your audience will follow suit . Don't be afraid to warn, ban, or block people, and dont tolerate people being rude or inappropriate to you just because they supported you before.

Lastly, You dont owe anyone jackshit. Just because someone is a follower/viewer or even a subscriber/donater/customer doesnt entitle them to special treatment.

Don't do soft 'no's' (which are indirect ways of saying no). Just be firm. 'No' is complete sentence. If someone isnt ok with it, then they can kick rocks."
