WOW WOW WOW, they really made us speechless with this one! 😭 even with only performing 2 songs, it feels like they picked the perfect songs for that year!!! Very good vibes throughout and we thoroughly enjoyed every second of it as you can tell 😂. Thank you so much for the support you’ve shown us as always 💜 what did you think of their MMA 2016 performance ? And is there anything we missed while watching ?

I'm super excited for everything that's to come, including the award show performances! The BTS members are truly such phenomenal performers, God bless. MMA 2019 and MMA 2020 are my absolute favorites though. :)

2025-04-08 15:52:37 +0000 UTCI try not to rank BTS performances, because they are just so different, and as you said, they just get better from year to year. That being said, the boys were spectacular here, but they were still given such terrible camera work. The camera men KNOW where to focus, as they do full rehearsals with the cameras beforehand. The unfocused, shaky footage, the excessive overhead shots and extreme zoom out during key points of the choreography are a choice. (Sorry, it just irks me to no end.) To answer your question: BTS never performs the same way twice at the award shows. They always prepare something incredible just for each performance, so even though the songs may be the same, the experience is quite different. You should definitely watch both, and ARMY will happily watch them with you.

Anna's reaction to that was so cute 🥹 I've actually never seen this 2016 performance so was experiencing with you two. It was so good! You two were right that it can't be compared to the 2018 performance (I confuse MMA and MAMA all the time, so won't specify hahahaha) because it is BTS at a different stage in their career, but it is still an excellent showing in its own right.

2025-04-03 16:30:39 +0000 UTCI don't know if you guys have the time to include the behind the scenes episodes in your reactions to these award shows performances or not but i feel like it will be good to do so if possible. It shows them getting prepared for the award shows including the rehearsal, red carpet, award-winning speeches and their reactions to winning those awards (specially for 2016 MMA & MAMA award where they were the first group not under the big 3 companies at the time to win Album of the year & Artist of the year. Their reaction was priceless and so emotional) and of course you will get to see their dynamic, bond, their work ethic and how professional they are. Some of the older ones don't have subs (2016-2018) so you can watch them in 'Bangtan subs' channel (you can just type for example: BTS MMA 2016 episode bangtan subs) as for the rest, they are available on bts official channel 'Bangtan Tv' with subs. I hope you get to them 💜 i would love to see your reaction to them behind the scenes.

2025-04-03 15:20:19 +0000 UTCI would suggest you react to Lie (Jimin's solo song featured on their Wings album) and Boy Meets Evil first as songs before you get to MAMA 2016, since these are also included but definitely do not skip out on the MAMA Awards either!!! Their performances there are just wow! The group you saw on screen when you said you don't know who they are is EXO. They were big at the same time as BTS (a bit before even), but BTS beat them in award show by 2016 onwards I would say. Still EXO's songs are amazing in my opinion. And the next frame of idols shows Seventeen (one of my favourite groups along with BTS). They are under the same umbrella agency (HYBE) nowadays and are self-made (like they produce by themselves). Overall the MMA 2016 was iconic for BTS because they won their first Daesang (one of the three big awards) for Album of The Year!!!

They were stunned when it was announced and several of them cried during their acceptance speech. There is a video on YouTube with their reaction and speech. Also, they won the grand prize for Artist of the year at the MAMA awards. You definitely should watch the MAMA award performances throughout the years as well as they are epic and when you watch their performance of Fire at MAMA 2016, you’ll hear V yell, “It’s my birthday!!” 🤣 🤣 🤣
