Hello there, im very grateful so many people is willing to support my art.
I'm still trying to figure out how to code the game in the most efficient way as possible, because the builds I made myself in the beginning were playable, yet not fun to play, and the coding was a nightmarish mess, since when I started programming the game by myself many years ago I actually did not intended to publish it, so it being rough and not optimized at all was something that didn't bothered me.
But now, with so many people interested in the project I want to make sure the project is fun to be interacted with even when it is just boxes moving in a black void.
But well what is next then?:
it amazes me how many people wants to comission me animations of the characters of the game.
Luckily when I make those most of the sprites can be reutilized for the game, in some cases even all the sprites from the comission can, that was the case on our latest animation with the pirates.
So expect in the following months new animations for Oliv(the tail vore character), one more featuring the pirates, and one for Polyand(the robot).
Aside from that
With the game's illustrator we already made like 20 new enemies and characters, soon we will show you some drawings of them.
I felt like just making more enemies and characters would create a workload that might be too big, so instead of that the illustrator will focus now in making some new images for social media made to explain the origins and personalities of the characters we already have, I think that will be better than having their personalities and plot just written in the descriptions of the animations.
But well, here just a summary of what happened with the programmer in case you feel we are running in circles:
He was too slow ,did not understood our ideas very well, and his builds were clunky.
So now it is me that is coding the game, Im not skilled enough to use the programmer's builds as a base, so Im restarting the engine in a way that I can understand it well, so I can make it more efficient. I'm confident that I can code a game that is fun to be played, since I programmed games for fun many times in the past, and today I have the advice of a talented programmer that is willing to help me, unfortunately he does not have enough time on his schedule to code the game himself tho.
I really wish I could have a playable build sooner, I just don't want to release a slow, clunky and glitchy mess.
Maybe I could save more money to pay a real programmer. Right now im using that money to pay the illustrator, the musician, and a friend that helps me with the pixel art sometimes.
We'll see what I can do
But well, that is all for now, I have a lot of animations to make, thanks a lot for your support.
