Hello there guys,
I managed to do quite a lot of material painting for the Raven Queen project recently. I started with the bodice seams. The tricky part is that the sleeves should be one part with the shoulder element in model, and they aren't. I won't fix that though. I will just try to hide the border somehow.
I assumed all the seams are pressed open. That's why I drew these seams using:
1. A sharp line approx 1mm wide, that created the sharp ditch.
2. A blurred copy of the first line that created the soft slopes of the ditch (approx 2-3mm wide)
3. A strongly blurred copy of the first line that created the slight bump along the seam (2-3 cm wide)
This set of lines gives you a nice impression of a real open seam (a bit of seam allowance creating a slight bump on the sides of the seam).
Also did the embroidery. I started with a sketch. Then, I created stamps of a sequin group, a leaf and a flower plus also some extras (seems like most of this is beaded embroidery). The original embroidery is asymmetrical and seems to be made like freehand I thought I will stick to that idea.
Next up are 3d flowers :)
Stay well guys!
