A quick announcement and the future

Hi all, thanks very much for the kind words about the Alan Wake 2 video! I wanted to give a belated update on what the rest of the year looks like - and a personal announcement.

I'm going to be a dad! We're now full steam ahead preparing for Baby Zander to arrive this year - which is amazing and we're excited to meet him, but naturally that's going to throw a spanner in the works for the next year.

"How does that throw a spanner in the works?" Good question, me! 👇

-Baby will make me very very tired so I probably won't be very creative.
-Baby will make recording audio very difficult because he'll cry.
-Noobus Humanus will likely slow down completely because Baby Crying/Noobus too tired to play games.
-A baby brings last minute interruptions you can't predict. It's likely I'm simply going to be playing less games - nevermind making videos!

This is ESPECIALLY true of Lore Dump.
It's very difficult to get me, Chase and Neil all in one place to record because we're so busy, we all have 9-5s and this year - especially - has been mad. Neil is getting married, I've got a wee one on the way, and Chase is wrestling with how humongous Yakuza is. We already had to cancel a couple of sessions because pregnancy stuff came up last minute and I had to go to the hospital - and Lore Dump is recorded at my house because it's the only venue where we have sound-proofing.

This means there will be NO LORE DUMP EPISODE on the first of August. It's the first time we've missed a month since we created the channel and it's a bummer but it's just the way it is. Life gets in the way sometimes.

WHAT DO THE NEXT FEW MONTHS LOOK LIKE?

Chaotic! My first responsibility is to my wife and my son, so it's a moving feast. But here is the (tenuous) plan for YOU - the patrons. Especially with Lore Dump and Noobus Humanus, it's likely you'll be getting stuff months in advance. My wife and I are planning to record a few Noobus videos over the next couple months and then release them slowly into next year - you'll get stuff as and when it's created. You'll need to bear with me though, some stuff might take longer than I thought.

You'll spot that there are a few remakes in there. Just like with the Alan Wake critique, I cringe whenever I go back to those older videos - and I think a lot of you do too.

So I figured while I'm learning how to be a dad, I can pluck away at fixing them up. This won't become a common thing. I MIGHT remake the Spyro and the Jedi: Fallen Order videos too. But this project will never get in the way of making new stuff for you.

The hope is there will be some other stuff in there as well - when the Alan Wake 2 Lake House DLC comes out I want to do a mini-critique on it if I think there's something worth talking about. I'll also do a Lore Dump covering it once it's out, but that might wait until 2025.

We also want to do a couple of Noobus Humanus videos mixed in there too - my wife is keen to keep that going! - but we're taking it one day at a time.
