Good morning Patrons!
Today I am thrilled to finally introduce Karen Shidahara and Lofi Japanese!
For the past two and a half years, I have been working with a small video production team in Hiroshima, Skill Hunter, and a freelance model, Karen Shidahara, to create a new library of content for Japanese learners and fans of the channel. All of this is thoroughly explained in the above video, but here are the main points:
We're launching a new, public YouTube channel with Karen that learners can use for Japanese immersion. Channel content includes:
Dogen Skit Re-enactments — In these videos, Karen performs Dogen skits such as "Japanese is Flat", "Japanese Banks", and "Butter", in native Japanese at varying speeds, with both English and Japanese subtitles (with furigana), and impromptu commentary.
Free Talks — In these videos, Karen gives her unscripted thoughts about various topics, such as Japanese work culture, religion in Japan, washoku, and more.
All videos are shot at Karen's traditional Japanese house in rural Hiroshima with professional production equipment. The videos—the channel at large—is meant to be an additional resource for Japanese learners whenever they find themselves thinking, "I should be doing some immersion—what should I watch?"
Please consider subscribing to Karen's channel if you find her videos entertaining or useful!
Lofi Japanese is a brand-new introduction to Japanese grammar and vocabulary course. The course:
Teaches entirely in Japanese (with optional English subtitles) through high-quality, minimalist videos with a focus on watchability
Thoroughly breaks down one grammar point and three vocabulary points per lesson
Launches with 15 lessons, each approximately 30 minutes long, with new lessons uploaded weekly (for a total of 30 lessons)
Lofi Japanese debuts in beta today at $199 for all current and past Patrons, and to the public in approximately three months for $299. It comes with a 30-day, money-back guarantee; if you're not satisfied with the course for whatever reason, just let us know and we'll get you your money back.
For more information, please check the Lofi Japanese page, or leave a comment below! Thank you all for your ongoing support, and best of luck with your future Japanese studies.
