Hey team. Little late on this, for obvious reasons. It's a short one.

FINANCIALS

We here see the results of a new TARP in September plus the continued effect of How to Radicalize a Normie no longer being age-gated. 230% over target in ad revenue! Despite being way below target on Patreon - a widening yearlong trend - it still pushed us over the top for the month.

We are at the point where I can more or less officially declare the financial targets for the year a success. Since YouTube pays October's income 3 weeks into November, I already know what this month's payout is, and, assuming the Patreon stays the course it's on and December's ad revenue is more than $200 (a safe bet when they've been over $1500 three months running), we will hit our target in December. That's not counting any additional revenue from Nebula or sponsorships; just Patreon and ads will get us to our goal.

Two days ago I had a couple videos lined up for the year, both intended to be sponsored, and was looking to see how hard I could overshoot that target. But, per yesterday's post, I'm not entirely sure what direction I'm going right now. I think at least one of those videos coming out is likely, but it's gonna take a few days' meditation to make any decisions whatsoever. The short of it is: we are probably gonna hit target no matter what, so I have some latitude to adjust plans, but I still wanna release at least one more thing this year. Details when I have them.

I did not track any mana for litany, and it has had an unsurprisingly muted response, barely affecting traffic/revenue at all. But I'm proud of it, which is why it exists.

First gym goal of the year achieved. Not a very strategic location, but better than nothing. Gonna have to make some plans if I wanna turn any of these into a line.

MOVIES & BOOKS

Need to average 5 movies per month from the randomizer list to get through it by year's end, which may involve a movie marathon with friends in the homestretch, but I think we're gonna do it! Finished reading Didion this month, debating whether to start reading another (I have this very silly idea for a video about California structured around pairing every song on Weezer's White Album with an essay from Didion's White Album, as both are about California), but I would like to finish that Mieville before the year's over. Set a page goal for the year a month ago, but I don't think I'm gonna hit it. Then again, the holidays often involve a lot of downtime, so you never know!
