"So far, his ruse had been successful. His gold-embroidered tunic and forged writ of inheritance was enough to make the Gold-Clads of the Grand Bank present a ravenous hunger for Laird's patronage. He focused the thoughts of every critical detail witnessed when he was able to distance himself from the Gold-Clad sorcerers, lest they detect the scrying orb contained within his earring. Passing the elevator entrance, the crystal pylons stood on either side of the archway. "Anti-Magic fields..." he thought to himself. If the scrying orb hadn't been nullified just by the proximity, it wouldn't survive down to the lower levels.

"The security of the bank and the protection of your deposits are our top priority." The bank's ambassador stated proudly, leading Laird to the Vaults. "No expense is spared, and outside of business hours, the facility is impenetrable." The vestibule towards the vaults contained tiles with curious runes. "Pressure plates," Laird focused his thoughts. "We're gonna need that insider knowledge."

"This is all well and good," Laird addressed the ambassador. "However, I have items of importance. I'm sure these vaults are appropriate for most, but surely you have better offerings for... preferred clientele needing the highest assurance of security?"

Laird felt the Gold-Clad ambassador sizing him up, weighing her options. "Of course, Lord Havenfell, I think this can be arranged." As she began to lead Laird to the elevator room, he focused his thoughts one last time. "I'm heading in, and going dark. Wish me luck."
