The Savior Bridge

The bridge itself was a reminder of a hastily built structure that, in all unlikelihood, stood the test of time. In a desperate attempt to escape the razed lands behind them, the denizens of Volkhelm escaped across the Horned Channel on this floating bridge of logs, interwtined branches and rope made from the pliable bark of the Bending Woods.

After the negotiations of peace, and with the threat against the nation at behind them, the Volkhelmians returned home across that sa...

Hunter’s Icefields

Happy New Year everyone!

Thank you all for another fantastic year of support and here's to another year full of new great maps and some exciting other projects I have coming up! :)

"The ice never quite settles here. Floes drift and grind, pressing together with enough force to crush stone fortresses before slowly tearing themselves apart again, as if the frozen sea itself is breathing. A bracing, bone-deep cold cuts through armour and fur alike, freezing breath in the air and ...

Brackenholt Camp

Hey all!

This small camp sits on open ground near the edge of a dense woods, it's rude wooden fortifications providing some protection to those who've made this land their temporary home.

As an encounter this works well for an overnights stay on the long road between cities. But does the danger come from roving beasts south of the fortifications, rising tensions within the camp, or the unknown horrors from the dark forest to the north? Enjoy! :)

The Great Tree

If ever there was a being who has witnessed the passing of time, it would be the great tree of many names. Some call it "The Wizened One", others "The Tree of Ages", myself and others from our tribe have known it as "The Ancient". Our names are of no consequence to it, however. Such designations are meaningless to one who's stood the test of time and elements for generations beyond our own imagination.

In times of peace, it's roots and branches have yielded us mushrooms and...

Whispering Springs

A verdant woodland glade cradles a tiered secret: three shimmering pools, each spilling gently into the next like steps carved into the earth. Sunlight filters through blossom-laden branches and paths weave lazily between the basins, worn by animals and travellers alike, inviting wanderers to pause, drink, and reflect.

This is a place for quiet contemplation or whispered meetings, where murmured promises echo over still water and unseen roots grip ancient soil. A sanctuary...

The Lair Of The Frozen One

In the icy Northern Pass Mountains past the Desert of Snow, a cruel wind that cuts to the bone forever blows southward. To push against it only seems to leech one’s warmth faster, punishing those who may trespass against its origin.

Even the snow itself has become barbed, jutting out in hard and sharpened edges. Without the utmost caution and sure-footedness, the snow collapses under the feet and risks grievous injury. The ...

Millcross

Outside the village limits, the peace and quiet of the Windmill Crossing has been a source of tranquility for the miller for some time. Here, he was able to find a calm respite from his dislike of the hustle and bustle of his neighbors, and could focus on his work.

In the spring, the herbalists would bring spices and remedies to be ground down into more usable form for cooking with the rabbits and doe the hunters brought home, or for the medicines the apothecary provides. Du...

Autumn's End & Free Bonus Encounter Table

Hey all,

I wanted to try something a bit different with this release, so working with my writer James we've put together this random encounter table (with boss encounter) for you to try out with your games. I'd love to get your feedback on this, do you think it'd be something you'd be interested in to go alongside maps in the future? Happy Halloween!

Pillaged Rest

In the main chamber, the secessionist leaders had already begun their meeting. Angry voices, loud and emboldened by their secret location, echoed into the rafters above. Traitors, the lot of them.

Her Catfolk ears heard them minutes before she even scaled the ruined walls, entering through a hole in the roof. Quickly and quietly, on all fours, she flitted from one cracked beam to the next until she found the perfect observation point above.

From her satchel she took ou...

Ambush at Oldwood Trail

Hey all!

This once pleasant trail is now a grim stretch of forest road where a merchant convoy met its end. Whilst autumn leaves scatter across the ground the beauty of the season is marred by blood and broken wagons, crates smashed, wheels splintered, and the air is thick with the scent of iron.

A perfect mystery to uncover after the attack, is it bandits, monsters or something darker that's lurking nearby? I've also included the empty map & broken cart assets to go with t...

Shardfall

In this remote forest far from civilization, a solitary figure toils in it's labor from dawn to dusk. Brick by brick, it lays the foundation as it's tattered robes barely conceal the crystalline growths protruding from it's body, consuming what little flesh remains.

Season after season, it continued to build the Plinth for the crystalline array. At the beginning of it's labors, it resembled something much more humanoid, much more natural. But after such exposure to it's ma...

Hermit’s Hearth

The old hermit of the woods never was one for company. He lives simply, quietly, and with independence.

His pigsty gave him his winter's meat, the rivers near his house give him his summer fish, the forest his firewood, and he wants for nothing.

Despite his aversion to people, he knows well the treachery of the woods, and is not opposed to taking travellers in for the night. While tranquil by day, the woods claim the unwary in the dead of night. While not much for conv...

Dawnbreaker

Y'know, no ship ever spoke to me quite like that one did. Nor have I ever learnt so much from it's voyages as I did any other. We was a tight knit crew, we was.

I was fresh from the docks when I got my first chance at joinin' the crew. Patrol missions, mostly. Y'see, at that time the republic was at war, and it was up to us to keep the trade routes safe. The Dawnbreaker came out on top of impossible odds on more than one occasion, I'd say. But as time went on ...

Fortress Approach

The Cliff-Face Wall has been a stalwart point of defense for generations. It's tactical advantage is even apparent to the most untrained of eye, as just to approach the city gates one must scale an ever winding road making it's way up the cliff face, steep and treacherous.

Over the course of dozens of defensive actions, no one yet has managed to breach the gate. For even as an army would be required to travel said road under fire from the garrison on the fortifications, if...

Shattered Span

The Bridges of Modurak, decrepit and in disrepair, still stand firm across the chasm, at least to some degree.

Once a bustling highway of Dwarven architecture, now it only serves the darkest creatures still lingering in the caverns in which its remains lay.

The well-equipped adventurer could still make use of them, if they are willing to scale cliffs and delve into cavern passageways. One so brave may even find rewards still stashed away, hidden in alcoves and nook...

Mapleford Depot

The Mapleford Depot became a logistics powerhouse for the Empire, due to its placement between several waterways and major crossroads. New laborers were consistently amazed by the constant churn of boxes, sacks, and various other storage for goods. It was frequently said, "Not one crate that stood in the warehouse on sunrise would be present at sunset." What might seem like an exaggeration actually was closer to the truth.

The Quartermaster ran a tight ship, so to speak. Eac...

Ironjaw Pass

Hey all!

"What would you know about it?" Hemmen responded, a hint of malice in his voice. "We've been put on guard duty for some secret hole in the ground that no one knows about. It's insulting, I tell you!

Serpent Path

The Corvid Scout

As the raven took wing high above the main road, her keen eyes spotted an irregularity on a plateau high above the path.

Clever... she thought to herself. The enemy had concealed themselves behind the dense tree line and shrubs far above, near invisible from any traveler on the main road. This bodes poorly for my friends, but perhaps forewarning could change the course of this engagement.

As she circled above, she...

Golden Tree

As a child I visited the Tree and the Circle often. We would have the most enchanting conversations, though on some visits, the tree was in such a deep slumber that we could not converse.

Still, it brought me to my profession. Though I had to travel far and sacrifice ...

The platform lowered us into the depths of the undercity, into a cavern none of us knew existed. How could such an expanse exist beneath the city walls?

The mystery continued as we explored. An everlasting fountain, pouring endlessly into a pool that seemed to drain to nowhere, with sparkles of coin lying on visible surfaces under the water. A wishing well, perhaps?

The most curious feature was just beyond the fountain, a bridge with glowing runes, a language which non...

The Stage of Repentance:

My time had finally come. Half a dozen of us stood at the gallows, awaiting the Governor and his scribe as they worked down the line. When he stopped in front of a prisoner, the scribe hastily pulled a scroll from his bundle, outlining the crimes and the prisoner's sentencing. In the courtyard, hundreds had gathered to lay witness, eagerly awaiting the pleas and begging for mercy, but even more eager to see the final, short drop.
