Hey all,
Here’s the map release for the Guard Room and the first four connector pieces for the Frozen Dungeon Series.
This classic locked door guard room is designed to be simple to start with but reveal more as the players are either set upon by hidden guards, who pull leavers to bring down the portcullis before firing through the arrow slits. Or perhaps the guards are the four statues within the room, who when an incorrect password is uttered spring to life to kill those who would wrongfully seek entry.
Also we have with this release the first four connector tunnels - all useable in any orientation and when mixed with the larger chambers you can see the frozen dungeon is starting to take shape!
I'm aware there are some lighting issues around where the tiles join but I'm working on a solution for this and will update the maps once I've solved it. I also might revisit these in the future and add more natural hazards, I’m thinking large tears through the floor were players can fall through to a lower level of the dungeon. More frozen ice and lakes for the party to cross too.
To give you an idea here’s what I quickly put together for a starting layout, but obviously you’ll be able to change it up however you’d like,
My thinking is you can have a smaller map of the full dungeon layout for the players to move around, and for your own reference, then when there's an encounter pull up the larger version of that section and use that for your battlemap. This should be especially easy using VTT and Roll20 where you can flick between the overall map and set encounter maps.
