He's not grading on how iconic it is or how boring it is. There are metrics for what makes a good flag and here the issue is the seal. It is too complicated with too many tiny details that aren't discernible from a distance, and uses too many colors. See the main flag video for what the metrics are.

As Tony above me, paid to just see PRs ranking and I think you might want to revisit the copied Cuba comment. There is history on why we copied Cuba, "The flag was created in 1895, by the Puerto Rican section of the Cuban Revolutionary Party, which advocated independence for Puerto Rico and Cuba from Spanish rule" We are called the sister islands because we were trying to achieve independence together. So the flag represents a very important part of our history and our special relationship and solidarity with Cuba before the Cold War. Lastly, as Tony said, we treat it as an S-Tier flag to the point that I would argue it competes on the world stage and is recognized by many non Puerto Ricans due to the amount of pride we have, our musical talent and our athletes. Similar to Texas we put it everywhere. With the amount of diaspora PR has, it is used as the key sign to alert others of our country "your kin is here". I have seen it fly in the middle of nowhere in the Midwest, in a bar in Germany, in a backpack in Chile, a hat in Spain, a tank top in Mexico, in Boston, NYC, San Diego, Chicago... It achieves the "easily recognized and symbolic to and of it's people", many of which had to leave their native land due to economic strife. It is also historically a symbol of protest. So I hope you reconsider its rank when compared to the states and put it next to Cuba in A rank in the national stage.🇵🇷🇨🇺 Las Islas siempre hermanas

I would’ve liked it if you talked about the similarities between the stripes for Puerto Rico and the US, but everyone seems to think we just copied Cuba, even tho they made theirs in 1902 and we did it a few years before, we only redesigned the light blue to copy the blue in the US flag but also to contrast the Cuban colors

I would enjoy a world flags video, but tbh the problem is a) there are a *LOT* of them and b) mostly they are pretty good. The state flag video was so much fun at least partially because of how hilariously bad they mostly are.

It's not just you, but it sounds like it's not everyone either. See my comment above - between 30 and 48 seconds, hangs .... wasn't flickering, just wasn't playing. Dunno if it's a tracker blocker issue (seemed to work for me when I turned "shields down" on Brave browser) or something else.

Love the bonus video. The cameo by Nunavut made me look at its Wikipedia page, and OMG if one ever wanted a Coat of Arms on blue, this would be so terribly epic it would go straight to S tier. Their name (ᓄᓇᕗᑦ) is even on the CoA!!!

As a Puerto Rican, I am not mad that our flag got “A” tier but I had hoped for “S” tier as a flag that’s easy to identify and uniquely represents Puerto Rico, with no writing, and a proud history and symbolism behind it.
