I won't say anything about today's topic in this post, other than to say: the many people who have told me, "don't talk about politics," need to take it up with the YouTube algorithm. Or maybe just take it up with...humans who click on videos and watch them, because today's YouTube release has so far piled up more views more quickly than anything I've ever released on Nebula (it was up on Nebula this past Saturday).

There is a short aside in today's video about the idea of "third places," though. Are people familiar with this idea? It's a place like a coffee shop, a pub, maybe a library, community center, or gym — a place that isn't home or work (the first two places), but where you can be among people in your community while you're getting work done, reading, studying, socializing, etc. Anyway, third places have always played a huge role in my adult life. They're the places where I probably get the most work done on my channel, and also the places where I strike up new acquaintances.

Anyway, I'm thinking about making a video around this idea at some point, and I'd love to hear if there are folks out there who have a similar affinity for third places...or even a different kind of relationship with them. It's honestly usually coffee places for me these days, but at other times it's been a gym where I played pickup basketball a couple times a week, or my local branch library. Would love to hear about the role of third places in your own life (or past life) if you'd like to share.
