ONE HIT WONDERLAND: "Jump Around" by House of Pain

At last, the requests are done. Hopefully this one can go up on YouTube!

Aaaand I'm back. That was an annoying month of non-patronage.

Josh Spicer

I guess I always assumed it was some kind of Jamaican/Caribbean accent I was hearing on this song. Am I crazy?

Rish Outfield

Or wrote like a bajillion CASCA THE ETERNAL MERCENARY novels.

And I've only now realized why people would always request this from my fav local Irish band back home (they always refused). I thought it was just a weirdly specific "lol, gonna request something completely not-Irish to be funny" thing. And now I know. To be clear, I love the song. And I think the band just refused because they did more traditional Irish, original songs, and a leeeetle bit of more modern bands more towards U2. So not really in their wheelhouse.

Fantastic video and well worth the wait! Happy to have been a part of the pledges this time around.

I had no idea that this was like an Irish party jam. Learn something new every day.

I don't hate them like I used to, but it definitely held Wes Borland back. Blacklight Burns was far better.

Now that the requests are over, you should reach farther back than the '90s-'00s again. "Ballad of the Green Berets" by S. Sgt Barry Sadler would make for a pretty atypical episode (Unless I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure nobody from the Vapors or A Flock of Seagulls was shot in the head while training guerrilla fighters in Guatemala.)

Kristopher Bluth

Well that explains why I always confuse them with Cypress Hill.

I love when you talk about artists or songs you love. :)

There's at least one song I'd want Todd to cover on One Hit Wonderland. Also I have one Trainwreckords I want him to do.

i have so many requests for trainwreckords, just say the word...

surasshu

Hey Todd, are you going to open up for requests again soon? I've had one locked and loaded for a while now and I'm more than willing to throw money your way for it.

Limp Bizkit are a good band and not "bad" at all.

LifeIsStrange

Love this! I like your videos best when you like the song :-)

Yelawolf arguably does hip-hop inflected blues-folk. His style changes somewhat between albums, but that's definitely a recurring one

Gordon Stearns

Speaking of My Sharona, now that you're done with the requests you'll have to review that song now for One Hit Wonderland.

Jump Around and What It's Like were by the same guy? Seems he took "Jump Around" quite literally... lord

Can i just say that title card looks great? Excellent use of color. Compliments to your artist!

"Top of the morning to you" ughhh I hate that phrase (and I'm Irish) It's not even an irish phrase. It's a 17th century phrase that was general to the entire UK and not just Ireland. It became "Irish" because of Disney of course. When the phrase was revived as a means to differentiate irish people in films from other groups. It's not used in Ireland, except when pandering to americans.

I'm three hours behind you but when I saw Todd put this up I just had to watch this.

Damn dude I enjoyed the speed recitation! Also my parents were obsessed with the Commitments movie, and the soundtrack, so I've seen it a ridiculous amount of times. Your Irish accent is hysterical. But anyway yes this is definitely pretty iconic 90's, though I would argue additionally for some Quad City DJs. Also I legit never knew Everlast was from House of Pain, dunno how I missed that, the more you know.

Oh boy! 3am!
