TRAINWRECKORDS: "Mardi Gras" by Creedence Clearwater Revival

I see a bad moon rising...

TRAINWRECKORDS: "Mardi Gras" by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Ooof, what a mess. I'd always heard Fogerty was a tough guy to work with, but I didn't realize things got this acrimonious... Also, I'm sure you have plenty of things in the pipeline, but I hope that one day the Trainwreckords series gets to Chinese Democracy by Guns N' Roses!

Todd missed a perfect opportunity to put this clip in the video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhokFOP8IH0

LifeIsStrange

This is at least the third time where I'm watching this series and I'm like "Hey, I love this band, but how come I haven't heard of this album?"

ArthurCrane

I also think it's worth mentioning that Fogerty never quite reached the heights with his solo career. It's like CCR was running on magic fuel, but they only had 2yrs worth.

I love this series.

Nick Huntington-Klein

Another wonderful episode! Also now I have to go and listen to Tuesday's Gone.

Deanna Banana

Six albums in two years? Blimey. I think the only other musical act to come close to such a high rate of output was Rihanna, and after 7 albums in 7 years she was well and truly burnt out.

Grace

13/10, would believe Amy over Todd. She's a good music review puppy.

Alina

The Fogerty songs might not be top form in this one, but at least they sound like Creedence tracks. The rest is just all over the place.

Daniel Beckett

love this 'series,' and this is a solid episode. super interesting to know about!

matt

With 6 albums in two years and one person writing everything, John Fogerty was either burned out or superhuman.

Josh Liller

fantastic work as always!

surasshu

I am really loving the Trainwreckords you've been putting out. The in depth of "Why this didn't work" is great

Stephanie Martin

your dog... is so precious. Another great review, I love train wreckords!

In a fun coincidence, this video comes out exactly five years after the day when I saw Fogerty at a music festival!

Harrison Andrew

Saw the Loreena McKennit OHW and was tempted to support. Just started supporting today after seeing this go up on Todd's Twitter. Now that I've seen the scene with Amy I have ZERO regrets.

Curt Clark

Aw, sweet little Amy!

Mr. Morrison

I think if you had Amy do a review it'd turn out quite fine

Joe Bush

Someday Never Comes is also the only song I like from the album. Back in my I'm a kid and I'm just going to pirate everything days I deleted every other song and just kept that one. Never knew why the rest was so bad till now.

Next review must now be done in woofs, snarfs, snorts, and sneezes.

Josh Spicer

I know a Beatles fans who HATES Ringo.

Josh Spicer

Amydog!

Asa Sweet

Agreed!

Kellie Green

The CCR story is a sad one. From what I've read, their disagreements were mainly about money. One of the other guys has a business degree and was understandably concerned about Fogerty's business decisions. He did a bunch of stupid stuff like losing all the band's money in a tax-shelter scam. Fogerty misunderstood their concerns as wanting equal creative input. They're still fighting each other to this day.

Kellie Green

Hey now, Grand Funk Railroad is a great band!

LifeIsStrange

I had no idea this existed!

I'll Think of a Clever Display Name Later

This is worse than I remember, and I remember it being pretty weak.
