Request line open!

Yup! One Hit Wonderland *OR* Trainwreckords requests are open for the low low price of the insanely high $300. No limit to the number of Patrons this is open to. I'll start doing them as soon at the end of the month when I get the money.

A couple caveats: I get veto power. I am willing to be flexible and in most cases I'll just ask you to reconsider, but if I absolutely cannot do I'll let you know. For my sake please come up with a handful of requests for me to choose the one I'm most comfortable doing -- I want to keep my quality high after all.

Once you've pledged, message me with your requests! Whenever you're ready.

/edit Well that didn't last long. Sorry :(

Same, Rammstein is such an interesting case.

In the category of "technical one hit wonders in the US, but actually extremely famous" (which I know Todd loooooves) I'd happily pay 300+ dollars for Rammstein's Du Hast. Mostly because I'm pissed off I probably don't get to see them live this year. Don't want to risk paying and having him say no, though.

If I can ever get the money, I would love to see you do a fountians of Wayne episode for One Hit Wonderland.

Please someone request "Lady" by Modjo. PLEASE PLEASE someone with money

I was hoping for "I Knew You Were Trouble" by Lostprophets.

Tommy Wimmer

Procol Harum isn't a OHW. They hit the Top 20 in 1972 with "Conquistador" and had several songs like "Salty Dog" and "Homburg" that got a lot of airplay on FM radio during the 60s and 70s. (Hate to nitpick but I'm just saving you a few hundred dollars.)

Christopher Herman

Didn't they sell out in like, six minutes last time? I literally remember getting the email notification about it, and them being filled up as soon as I checked on it. The price hike at least slowed this a little bit.

Teddy Haines

Wow jeez it literally took like... six hours or something for that to fill up. I'm sure there will be a joke about that in the next OHW but man unless you start doing like three videos a month, you're literally either not going to be covering actual current pop songs for awhile or like doing requests till like... August 2019 at earliest. Hope you're cool with that man and can't wait to see what people sent you. *Crosses fingers someone asked for either Estelle's American Boy or Harvey Danger's Flagpole Sitta, which would of been like the two big ones I would of requested if I had the time to put in the money for them*

Neo Ultra Mike

Looks like the rest of us will have to wait till next time. At least that gives me time to compile a list of OHWs, provided none of my picks crop up in this new batch.

I'm hoping someone requests 99 Luftballoons. There's a lot to talk about there. The crappy English version they refused to perform live, the success they had in Germany... I think they wrote it because of Mick Jagger and there's a Star Trek reference. It would be interesting to hear Todd's take and if I can scrape up $300, I'll do it

Syl W

I did a spit take when I saw how much Todd's patreon went up this morning. Then I looked at how many people have pledged to the One-Hit Wonderland tier. Currently 15 people at 300 dollars each. Holy moly. Maybe Todd should've raised the threshold even higher. It's going to take you over a year to get through these. O.O

LumRanmaYasha

Remember that he has viewers outside of USA too. Besides Kelly Clarkson we don' know any of those that have been on American Idol.

Joss Strand

Huh! I totally thought "Jesus Freak" or "Colored People" would have topped their single, considered how much I've heard them, but nope! Wikipedia says it's "Between You and Me". But yeah, some good, fun points about DC Talk like the ones you've mentioned, plus TobyMac and the really obscure association from their first album with the voice of Edward Elric from "Fullmetal Alchemist", Vic Mignogna :)

Man... I wish I wasn't a broke College Grad with $50k+ of student loan debt! If there's a courtesy request available, I'd request "Between You and Me" by DC Talk. Not only does the group have an interesting musical history, but they also cashed in on that grunge craze of the 90s on the same album. Also... to pick fun of the "God's Not Dead" series. I'm a devout Christian personally, but man is that series cringy.

If it wasn't for the Rickroll meme, nobody would've truly thought of him a one-hitter. Heck, he even had a top 40 hit in 1993.

Jacqueline Sailer

Hey, anyone want to go in halfsies (or thirds)? I can spare maybe $100, but I would love to hear "In the year 2525" by Zagar and Evans or "Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procal Harem for old school OHW.

Gideon Weinerth

Has anyone requested one of the several American Idol OHWs that immediately faded away? I feel like with the revival, it could be an interesting thing to look at the larger cultural impact of the original show, and see what happened to one/some of the flameouts.

Theo Gerome

Do it before he realizes his mistake :D

Elizabeth M Hyde

I just got on and saw 14 already. Damn I wanna do it but I feel Todd is gonna be like "I've made a grave mistake" so I'll hold off : (

Adam Nelson

Done! :)

Jacqueline Sailer

Just please no Rick Astley for OHW. (Or TW honestly.) Someone always tries requesting it, too. I may not be able to scrounge the funds to pay for an episode but I can beg for one not to happen. :)

Alan Kase

Done and done!

Noah Ramon

Well, I do have a few requests for you to consider. I hope you'll be able to enjoy doing research for these. The one you do can be your choice if you can only do one. "Major Tom (Coming Home)" - Peter Schilling "96 Tears" - ? and the Mysterians "Torn" - Natalie Imbruglia "She's A Beauty" - The Tubes "Down in the Boondocks" - Billy Joe Royal "Here Comes The Hotstepper" - Ini Kamoze

Thomas Carmody

I hope you stay in this business until I reach a point in my life when I do have that much lying around. Choose good songs you wealthy people out there!

I'll Think of a Clever Display Name Later

Depends on how quickly they come in. If they come in slowly, as I suspect they will, then it's just an open thing. If I get flooded I'll shut it down but I don't see that happening

Todd in the Shadows

Same but i would like a trainwreckords episode of Christinas Aguileras Bionic

I can't afford it, but if anyone wanted to request Nena or Marcy Playground, y'know, that'd be cool :)

Meowlissa

How long will requests be open?

I forgot to add, message me with your requests! No rush or anything

Todd in the Shadows

Done.
