Even his talk about the song - "everybody has sex, and it’s something people wanna hear about. It’s part of everybody’s life, a very big part of life. And you don’t want to sweep it under the carpet." - makes it sound like he's got no real strong emotional connection to the song (reminds me of Maroon 5 trying to pretend that Moves Like Jagger meant something to them). The only exceptions are the few moments when we see him facing Gigi Hadid, when he seems to show some life..

I wish Todd inspiration, especially now that Shawn "Treat You Better" Mendes and Meghan "Me, Too" Trainor are creeping into the Top 20.

I hated Pillowtalk when it first came out. I've grown a little softer towards it, but I totally agree with all your points. It's a really bland song.
