A message to all my Patreon supporters

I have to admit, I find it gauche for an entertainer to talk about how much he makes, especially to his fans. I don't like to brag about what I make, or complain about how little I make, or even acknowledge any of the business aspects of what I do with my little web show. I like putting my work out there for you guys to hopefully enjoy and that being the end of the conversation. However, this is the first time I've asked anyone to give me actual physical money out of their own pocket for no reason except to show their appreciation, and a lot of you have done so, so I figure I owe you guys at least some kind of statement to show my appreciation for what you guys have done. So I'd like you all to look at this image at the top of this post. That is a picture of my actual shoes; the shoes I am currently using whenever I need to walk around in public. You can use that as an index into my financial state before today. Meanwhile, I just looked at how much money I got from you guys this first month of Patreon. Because of that, these are the shoes I have decided to go out and buy tomorrow: http://i.imgur.com/ikQitQO.jpg (Okay, I'm wearing my current shoes because I've been too lazy to get new ones, not because I'm too broke to do so. But you get the idea. I need a new printer. When my last printer broke last year, I rushed out and bought the cheapest one I could find, and it is worse than garbage. I need a new webcam. I need more RAM to upgrade my computer. I need a lot of things which I can go out and get right now because you guys are all amazing and I love you.) Also, I note that you guys have put me over the benchmark of $1,000 per video, which means you'll be getting a new Top Ten Worst List sometime within the next few months. Those lists, for the record, are a TON of work. But for this amount of money, I will absolutely do it and with a smile on my face too. Thank you all so very much.

I DON'T KNOW HOW KALI IS SO SMALL

Todd in the Shadows

I'm thrilled you reached your milestone! You absolutely deserve it and I am proud to be one of your patrons, especially because you weren't getting any or barely any ad revenue from me (Belgian user here). I look forward to the list and appreciate all the hard work you (will) put into it!

ai_monogatari

You are awesome and funny, and since I'm not from the USA you don't get money from me, so the minimum thing I should do is give you some money. You deserve it Todd, not let anyone to make you believe or tell you otherwise.

Ximena Contreras

We do it cause you're great, Todd. I have delusions of writing music criticism and I can only hope I do anything as near as insightful, smart, and funny as what you do. Thank you for making such great videos. May your gold-plated shoes serve you well, you deserve them.

Jared Walske

Todd, I love your videos, and I love music a little bit more because of them. Go get your gold shoes, buddy.

Kaye

Hey Todd, we did it because you and your work is worth it-- I think you're hilarious! And while there was no Patreon bracket to get more tweets about Kali's size, I know those are free because you care.

Zachary McAnally

You deserve every single penny, your show is great, and I'm happy we helped you having the financial stability to be able to concentrate on it and have fun. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to show our appreciation.

Thank you for producing such great content. I'm really looking forward to that next list, I used you Top Ten Worst Songs of 1976 list to hook a few new fans (all of whom hate Chicago, so bonus!)

Rebecca Richards

1. Yeah, get your new shoes. But make sure you still get a good deal, cause good shoes ain't cheap. 2. Patronuses. Call us Patronuses. 3. How is Kali so small? 4. What is going to be your 2000 or 2500 dollar goal? May I suggest doing a top 10 of your favorites songs, either period or that were hits? 5. Keep doing what you are doing, and we will all keep watching and liking it.

Thanks for tweeting this link out. I help fund Chez Apocalypse's Patreon, but actually hadn't realized that you have your own. I love your work, and am happy to support you individually! One comment, though: why waste your money on gold shoes when clearly you should be purchasing a gold codpiece instead?

Bradley Smith

I'm stoked the $1,000 goal was met so quickly. Thanks for continuing to be one of the most honest, entertaining reviewers out there. Looking forward to the new 10 Worst lists - mid to late 90's would be awesome!

Daniel
