I get that the Morrisett "gag" is an appropriate response to Kirk's attitude that "casualties are worth the benefits" but I think the video should start with an even more elaborate warning

2025-12-22 05:37:25 +0000 UTCI know it's my specific brain chemistry/everyone derives entertainment from different things, but this kind of content and cringe content... I just haven't been able to stomach it since my early 20s. I don't think that makes me better or worse than anyone else, but I personally cannot understand why people consume content that overall makes them feel worse. I generally feel so, so bad for (most of) the people in the videos, or it makes me feel an emotion, which might feel good at first, then warps into something bad and/or guilt over that emotion. Is it similar to the true crime, in that it makes us feel like we're preparing/rehearsing in some twisted way? Or is it truly just the "glad that isn't me" mentality? Just a morbid fascination? Regardless, thanks for the very interesting video (... that i had to play in a hidden tab because I couldn't stand to watch the actual video, hah). P.S. Before I watched the video, I remember there being a comment where someone said they enjoyed this kind of content and "were they going to have to give it up." I did want to ask them about this, but it looks like they've deleted their comment.

2025-12-20 19:22:17 +0000 UTCI'm a public defender, so at this point I see BWC when I close my eyes at night, and in my experience, BWC just lets police departments close complaints faster, because they ultimately see nothing wrong with what they do, so rather then have to investigate, they just watch the BWC, say "well, looks fine to me" and close it, and 99.9% of people won't go virial and be able to pressure anything else out of them

The police here is worse than in other parts of Germany, Bavaria as a whole is more conservative and thanks to the csu party (a sister of the major cdu party) it carries a whole baggage of weirdness and shittiness in its politics. I live in rural bavaria even. I'm from here that's why I'm still here. I thought about moving plenty because politics. Anyway, I've had some minor police violence (insults) inflicted on me and I wasn't even at a protest, but just trying to secure the site of my husband's minor car accident. I know how those conservatives feel because that made me flabbergasted. I'm ready to get a stick over my head at a protest and here I was getting insulted during a snow storm. Anyway, off to touch some brown, cold, wet grass.
