Why doesn’t Mars division vacuum up credits like Omnicorp used to? That would be a great way to both maintain the status quo and prevent inflation

Matthew Overton

Excellent point! Something tells me we are headed toward a red (and I mean really red) revolution in the future. How Mike sprinkled in the references to Alexandra Claire in even the series' earliest episodes makes me think that her role in all this is not even half done

Carmack Sanderson

This is true

The world building in this series is astounding. The way Mike illuminates details from every corner of Mars, the Shippers and Earth has turned this series from a mere creative exercise to an immersive experience that transports a listener into a fully lived-in world, nay, worlds. What a treat this series is from a truly gifted storyteller.

Feels more like an AppleTV+ one

Ancient Rome also had a Campus Martius or "field of Mars"

I was a bit skeptical about this series at first, but this is getting so damn good.

What we've seen of Omicorps leadership doesn't seem like the forward thinking they've got in them. However I am curious why all the security ships, is piracy a serious threat or did they always exist to stop mutineers? We have smugglers, but there's been no ship to ship boarding/hijacking, which I assume would require rival corpos.

I just want you to know I see what you did there, having the Martian Assembly gather on what we might call the "Champs de Terre." And that you just about made me do a spit-take.

Can't wait for this Netflix limited series

Mike I LOVE this series thank you for making something so fun

Truly Timothy is the revolution's most important asset

Joseph Bailey

Can't wait for 2248 to be as convoluted as 1848, really on the edge of my seat here.

Atresta

I wonder if Omnicorp has been using the Phony War to build up their dedicated security fleet, or whether Timothy has just been waiting for Mars to blink.

RMS Oceanic

I'm so fascinated to see whether Martian independence results in a socialist revolution or merely a liberal one. It could be a fundamentally different thing as every irl socialist revolution we've seen has been post-feudal or post-liberal, but Mars' would be post-corporate. Where do revolutionaries look for inspiration when liberal democracy is almost as distant historically and politically as socialism (and the latter is arguably closer given the through-line of unions and strikes being actively verboten)?
