MonCurse test build V0.6.9.0: Lamia (OUTDATED)

I plan on uploading an update to Lamia by the end of this week, if I don't add more things. It should be 1-3 weeks between each update.

I haven't yet given her any logic for hunting the player down so I might do that soon. People are kind of expecting some sort of engulfing from the lamia, and she is set up to be able to do that, but I might not make it the actual ending. I'd have ideas if I made it a futa-only ending but I like to have some non-futa options available ... Maybe I'll just have a futa ending and then have a second ending later. I do intend for any character with a toggleable content ending to have an alternate ending.

I have to say I found the lamia to be...surprisingly unthreatening? She spends most of the time running around in circles rather than doing anything actively dangerous. Sure, she sometimes grabs you if you get close, but she can't really do anything if you keep your distance. It feels less like she's hunting you down like the other monsters and more like she's accidentally running you over. Maybe giving her a projectile attack or something would help? I love her design and her tail is very technically impressive, but as an enemy it feels like the best way to deal with her is to ignore her completely. As for what her potential endings could be like...wolf and harpy both already have unbirthing content so I don't know if we need a third monster specialized in that. Personally I'd like to see her have some gyarufication content (maybe she gives the player a makeover with makeup made from her venom?)

Maybe make tar paws and claws be coloured by clothing instead of hair

I should have fixed it in the in-dev build but it's the only thing I've fixed, so I wasn't sure about uploading a new patch... I should probably do it later, just to get rid of the knockback problem

Yes but the imp colours have different paw and tar colours then the hair so how does that work pleas just fix the wolf colours to make them more accurate I wish to look like pitch

Apparently it's possible to push the soul out of the lamia somehow. Don't know what causes it directly but egg and someknockback moves can desync the soul and body causing issues. (Soul I mean the core part that controls the Lamia movement and moves which can apparently get shoved away from the body resulting in the lamia unable to move.) Also Lamia struggles to target properly adjust corners and get stuck DVD logoing in a few spots. [Edit: quick update yeah from what I can tell, Lamia breaks if get hits with knockback moves because I think there is no code handling how a lamia gets shoved around resulting in desyncing of body and soul]

Hmm an ending where Voice gets lured in and also turned into a lamia? Unless there is gonna be another npc who will help us through the desert, then they can be lured and turned into Lamia! Can never have too much Lamia

Could you please put all your suggestions in one post in the future, and if you have any other ideas you can edit the post, because right now everyone's posts are hidden behind "load more comments" the wolf outfit case is a bit weird because it's tied to what the player's paw color would be, which itself is dependent on hair color, so I'd have to make the paws mismatching

What really bothers me is that the wolf player tar outfit is white while every other form of it is a a nice purple gray colour

Another good idea is to add some way for the player to inflict some sort of stun of hit

Maybe add an infinite milk jar to the gallery to add milk to your character and make it so permanent transformations can apply to all transformations and for the ability to apply status effects in gallery

If you get the chance, check out the discord bug report. I found an interesting glitch with the lamia and want to see if others are able to recreate it

For an ending scene maybe a slow transformation scene while the Lamia comes inside MC would be fun.

I've put up patch .1 so it's a bit less buggy but there are still some occasional disappearing acts / egg-on-lamia glitches

Furthermore, you could have the venom do the lighter Lamia transformations, with the lower half transformation requiring some time to bake in the oven, so to speak.

Second this. Though I could also see a regular unbirth scene as well without an egg. Six of one, half dozen of the other, since we have a live unbirth scene with Wolf and an egg unbirth scene with Harpy. Hell, it’s one of Harpy’s attacks. Happy either way. 🍻

Could make the venom debuff count up instead of down. The longer you have it the more severe it becomes and eventually it can maybe TF you. Could do stuff like slowing movement, weakening attacks, shutting off certain abilities/items. Maybe cured by drinking milk or killing a creature? Or at the spring of course. Idk I’m just spitballing ideas
