The next video is almost at the finish line....

Just wanted to give a process update. I am Working on the new video about AI. This is the most ambitious project I've ever done, but I am trying to get it released in a timeframe that is not unlike my previous timelines (basically, trying to upload at least every 4 months). This is both due to creative necessity and financial constraints. I feel this video needs to be released Right Now because the issues it covers are rapidly getting worse. I also can only afford to sit on a video for so long before financing the research process becomes unsustainable.

This will be a comprehensive video on the topic of AI, the issues it brings, and the more fundamental problems of which it's emblematic. Without giving too much away, yes it will point out that "The problem with AI" is capitalism (as many have pointed out), but I feel like leaving it at this is intellectually lazy. There is so much more at stake, so much more that needs to be talked about and wrestled with, so many futures that we need to do WORK in articulating before it is stolen from us.

My research document is currently at over 100,000 words. I'm very aware that lots of video essays are just "here's every single thing I know about a subject without any coherent direction." I've been working for the past 4 months straight on curating my argument as much as possible, yet, the length and scope of this project is still huge. I even hired someone to help with research on a specific aspect of the project, and even so, assigning them to an area of focus didn't put that big of a dent in the research process (though the stuff she's working on will be one of the most exciting parts of the video IMO).
