Straight logic, tell em man in the midst of a serious situation like that you gotta make smart decisions emotions aside. 9 times outta 10 that serum would need to go to Erwin the commanding officer who's proven. Not the young scout with potential. Though I'm ultimately happy to see Armin survive.

Sure, they could have killed all the titan shifters to avoid any other potential danger, but if they had killed Berthold just like you suggested they should have killed the Beast titan and Reiner, Armin would be dead. The Recon corps are just taking the best decisions they can in the heat of the moment.

As you mentioned, one of the reasons I love One-Piece is because of the balance of comedy/lightheartedness and dark tones. I do think One Piece and AOT have similarities in terms of some of the themes explored in the anime/manga. These are the things that make me really enjoy anime and manga. So many different types of stories with great characters, plot, and storytelling.

In my personal opinion I do love Attack on Titan, as I also watch the anime and read the manga, but it's actually One Piece that become my favorite series. If I can compare the two of them, the difference is the amount of laugh and joy you can get. It's true both of the series have their own very amazing original story, character, and world building, but in Attack on Titan you can only laugh and have a joy or a tears of joy in just a couple of minutes maybe, while in One Piece you can also feel the grim, intense, and hard story moment but at the same time there's a lot amount of laugh and joy inside it.

I absolutely love AOT, but One Piece is my favorite anime. However, as a anime watcher/manga reader for both shows, I can say that AOT (overall and up to where the story is in both the manga and anime) is very good right now and I'm super hyped. I'll continue enjoying both.
