But as we are having the discussion, id like to put my understanding of the complication of the situation here. Bellamy started respecting Luffy after one punch luffy happened, and later when he visited skypiea. Colosseum; Chemistry changes, bellamy has nothing against luffy, luffy acknowledges bellamy's growing strength. Castle; luffy sees bellamy under total control on the ground, bellamy wants to save face in front of luffy who told him that he grew, earlier. bellamy wants to save face in front of luffy again, this time for showing that his dreams and beliefs are worth fighting for as well, even if the world thinks they are wrong, even if he is to die chasing them, he will not falter, to save face in front of luffy. there is no other better rationale that fits for me to explain this situation better. He was motivated (thanks to luffy, twice) to achieve his dreams (unfortunate here, joining the family), but this is essential, since proof of resolve for whats coming at the end of this arc, which most of us reading this know, but yah, spoilers none-the-less. Much simpler times at mock-town, BB was a love at first sight.

I wish I had the answer but all I could say is humans are weird, complicated little things

Even after the fact of Doffy almost killing him and using him as a puppet he didn't want to hurt Luffy. But then all it took was for Mingo to let him go and say he's free to revert him ALL the way back? I don't get it. Again maybe I'm just not built to understand these types of situations.

Those people don't listen to common sense. It's human nature to laugh at common sense and choose emotions and ideals when the 'perfect' situation presents itself.

But then he did this and it made me revert my thinking all over again. Certain things are common sense. I get there are possibly ppl like this but to this degree is insane.
