Early Access: Sink or Swim: The Schwimmwagen
First off, the visit to the Panzermuseum was very successful, big thanks to Andy and Tobias here. We were able to record 25 videos. On three days, we entered the museum at around 0700 (since from 0700 to 1000 there are no visitors), but also recorded throughout the day, until around 1730. Thanks for making that possible!
Second, sadly Ralf had only very limited time available, so we couldn't tackle any of the questions.
Third, the views on both channels have been down for month...
finally, with almost 1 month delay...
2025-09-13 13:27:51 +0000 UTC View PostIested the PC without any components, it worked.
Added M2 SSD and GPU, it worked.
Then realized I had forgotten my password... (which I entered for around 2 years several times a day... but muscle memory and lately I was using different computers...) luckily, Windows security is bad REALLY BAD. Found one video and fixed the issue rather quickly.
Added 2nd SSD and 3 HDDs, in steps, now everything is working again.
Also packed all my stuff for the Panzermuseum trip.

2025-09-06 19:37:05 +0000 UTC View PostFinally, the computer is back and my greatest worry that it might be stuck is also gone.
I am finishing up the preparations for the Panzermuseum visit today on the other computer and tomorrow will "reinstate" my old computer - hopefully everything works out, I have to put back in 5 drives and GPU and then hope that my muscle memory of my password kicks in...
If that works out, I should be able to finish the video and release it.

The PC was sent away from Germany on Monday, usually it should arrive today or even yesterday, yet for some reason (DHL) seems to be extremely slow with this delivery, the 2 updates by now have more 24 hours each time, in case around 36 hours...
Good news, my backup PC arrived and I finishing up a lot of notes for the Panzermuseum visit, got several primary sources (experience reports etc.) also covering non-tank stuff that fit into the museum, so content-wise this should be...
Good news, I just received news that my PC was fixed. (Although, it still needs to be sent to me.)
It seems I was correct two times, both the motherboard and CPU had to be replaced. The chances for that are very low, since generally even one component failing is rare. (Keep in mind, it is 2 years old, lately there are more issues with certain combinations.)
Currently I have prepared 12 notes/script for the Panzermuseum, including some stuff about anti-tank guns and also artillery...
Today I got confirmation that my old PC arrived at the seller and will be inspected and ideally repaired.
In the mean-time I ordered a spare PC (way weaker but also cheaper) last Saturday, sadly, I chose a third party seller that provided wrong information about the shipping date, it should have arrived on Wednesday the latest, well, I got sent off today (Thursday)...
I probably should receive the spare PC on Monday (keep in mind in Austria on Sunday nothing happens and Saturday there ...
As mentioned before, I had some serious issue with my computer. I thought the motherboard was the issue, but I tried 3 different ones and 2 different models. I also got new RAM, so basically that leaves the CPU and/or PowerUnit as culprits, but maybe something else I haven't accounted for. So far, I spent more than 40 hours from Sunday to Thursday evening, on top of that I consulted with a repair shop, various friends, etc.
My efforts so far to make the PC operational as fast as possibl...
2025-08-21 17:16:50 +0000 UTC View PostThe last 3 days I spent trying to get my computer running.
My plan was to finish Tuesday's (today) video on Sunday, since I was on a metal festival with a friend and the video was mostly done...
On Sunday morning my computer wouldn't boot anymore, the power on self test (POST) showed the CPU and RAM lights blinking, this happened before, but this time I couldn't turn off the computer anymore with the power button and also manually cutting the power didn't change anything. So I as...
2025-08-19 16:47:45 +0000 UTC View PostIn early September I will be 3 days at the Panzermuseum Munster. I will be joined by Tobias (former Leopard 2 gunner) and a Canadian friend (no military background). I likely will meet with the director of the Panzermuseum Ralf Raths as well.
Feel free to post below your topics, questions, suggestions about tanks in general, specific tanks, specific people, etc.
Ideally in this format: 1) question/topic/suggestion including name of the person vehicle if that matter...
sorry, for the delay

Dr. Col. Matthias Wasinger agreed to a Q & A, and I might actually visit his unit, if we get questions that make sense to do in person or better with troops and/or equipment.
He is currently the commander of a mountain infantry battalion (Jäger Bataillon 24, Gebirgsjäger).
His unit has 3 light infantry companies (Jäger), 1 headquarters and 1 combat/heavy support company.
Weapon systems: BvS10 AUT (tracked ATV) with a .50 cal, ATGM (Bill 2000 / RBS-56 Bill), 120 mm mortar, 81...
I asked the German combat engineer Buttjer Freimann (pseudonym), which I interviewed/asked previously quite a lot of stuff about the Ukraine War. Here is one video with him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zh_SmROB2AM
He is open to your questions, although no guarantee that he answers.
He generally does not comment on politics, but is very open to tactical stuff, how/why, all types of munitions, he al...
Was a bit busy the last weeks, had a recording session for an upcoming documentary and the week before that I was at the TMAF 2025, as you can see.

Hi,
by now I am quite used to getting fewer views than before. Yet, recently, I am more and more confused how some videos are more successful than others.
Case in point are these 3 videos, I suspected the Firefly doing pretty well, around 80-100K and the Pz IV vs T-34 doing at least 100K both did around 60K, meanwhile I would have assumed the bunker video to get 100K at best, yet it got 167K.
Does anyone of you have an idea?
Cheers,
Bernhard
PS: Above a "red ...
finally the complete interview
